Super exciting thread, haha.
We had new hardwood floors put in the beginning of this year. I've noticed about 4 small chips so far. Some in places where we have our dining room chairs. We have the sticky felt pads on the bottom but they seem to move and fall off all.the.time. I am constantly sticking them back on.
I know there are the ones you can nail into the bottom of your chair, but I read on some Amazon reviews that the nail part was popping through the felt and then scratching the hell out of people's floors.
So...any suggestions for some that will stay on for more than a few days and not scratch my floors?

We got the sticky pads from Home Depot and those definitely did not work. It's not even just that they came off, but that they came off, flipped over, and then somehow stuck VERY securely to the actual wood floor. :-( I see that IKEA have some that might be worth a try. Otherwise I've been getting ads on my Facebook lately for ones that are actually like clear caps that go over the end of the chair with a felt pad attached...I was wondering if those look dorky or if you really wouldn't notice because who looks at the bottom of chair legs?
I gave up on felt pads and bought chair socks. I went with boring brown but really wanted argyle and fair isle patterns. I pull them all off when they get too much dog fur on them, wash, and put back on. They do not look too dorky—but I worried at first.
I suggested these on the accidental MM post but thought I'd share here too. These are great! No nails to scratch the floor and they don't slide off the legs like the stick-on ones.
We just keep a bunch of felt pads in a drawer in the kitchen and replace as needed. We have never found one brand to have a lot of longevity - plus they get gross quickly.
Amazon tells me I bought them on 7/14. We only moved into our house on 6/28, and I tried the stick-on ones first so... that tells you how well the stick on ones worked for us, lol.

They have lots of them on Amazon and slightly different colors.
I have these too and have been happy with them. Mine look like cat paws and I think they’re adorable. Every now and then they’ll start to slip down a bit and I have to pull them back up, but i think they’re a million times better than the felt pads.

We use these as well. We tried stick-on ones, we tried the straight nail ones, and these were the most stable and secure feeling. We bypassed the socks because we didn't want anything obviously visible.

We also use chair socks. They need to be replaced every year or so as they wear through but they work very well! Ours are back too and not noticeable on our black chair legs.
I have those in brown. They still need to be replaced pretty often.
We’ve only had them a couple of months, but have liked them a lot better than the stick-on pads. We aren’t super hard on our chairs, so we figured we’d take the chance on them.
