The got pregnant board is super slow, so I thought I'd ask here!
If you were induced with your first due to going past your due date, not medical reasons, did you have to be induced with your second?
I went 41+1 with my first with absolutely no signs of labor and was induced. I'm 36 weeks now and feel so different this pregnancy it's making me nervous. Mostly because my mom isnt coming out until a few days before I'm due, so I feel like I've now jinxed myself to have this baby early.

I wasn’t induced for my first, but went to 41w4d (had to fight the induction). Second was born on her due date. Third was born 4 days before his due date.
ETA: I had no signs of labor with my first until the day she was born. The second I had some signs things were happening for weeks.
ETA2: first labor was super quick 4.5 hours. Very concerning going into second birth. I had a 2.5 hour labor with her which made me incredibly concerned going into the third, but he was a middling 3 hours.
I went the opposite way. Spontaneous, 4-hours-all-in labor with #1 at 39+2. With #2, we were all freaked out and worried about how much faster it could go, since I barely made it to the hospital the first time, how much earlier that could happen, and what we might do with 3yo DD if it did. In my case it was wasted worry. At 39+3 I was still pregnant, only 1-2 cm, and opted for an elective induction.
The induction was quick and easy, only a few hours, but I think he otherwise would've happily stayed put a while longer. Hard to know how many more days.
My sister was induced at 41w5d with my niece and ended up with a c/s after 48 hours of lack of progress, and had my nephew via scheduled c/s at 39w5d. Her OB said she likely would have gone past her due date with him as well, apparently her babies like to hang out!
I was 41w1d and induced. My induction failed though... it was something like 36 hours of alternating the induction meds, plus having my water broken, and I think I never even got to 2cm dilated. My body was just like, nah. I had an emergency c/s. Baby was big too, 9lb12oz. So second pregnancy we just planned for a c/s.
I carried lower with my 2nd pregnancy, a lot more cervical pressure third tri. And I had contractions starting at 37w. I was convinced I'd go into labor, but no... they lasted two weeks on and off. I came into the OB's office for monitoring a few times and the contractions were showing up on the monitors, regular intervals, but again, no cervical progress and they would eventually fizzle. So I ended up making it to 39w for the planned c/s.
All that said, 2nd pregnancy felt very different at the end and yet I made zero progress with labor.
I was induced both times. First time, I was 10 days overdue. Second time, I was induced on my due date because they thought the baby could be 11 pounds (she was a little over 10). Both times, my body showed zero signs of being headed towards a natural labor.

Yep. I was induced with pitocin at 41w3d with my first. With my second I was given cervadil at 41w2d with the thought that it would ripen my cervix and I'd get pitocin the next morning. But the cervadil sent me into labor on its own.
All that said, 2nd pregnancy felt very different at the end and yet I made zero progress with labor.
This is exactly how I feel, with all the pelvic pressure and baby being low. I felt so good my first pregnancy I knew I wouldn't go into labor. This one I totally have that "omg get this baby out" feeling. But, this does make me feel better.
My midwife has said that the pain is just second pregnancy pain not an indication of labor, and that people typically go about the same amount of time. Doesn't stop me from stressing about it though ha
I was induced at 41 weeks with DD1. I was not dilating yet when they admitted me. The cervadil started labor and I delivered DD less than 6 hours later.
Dd2 was also induced, but they did not let me go past her due date because of her size. I was concerned I would go into labor early because I was dialating and everything felt different than DD1, but that was not the case. She was born 4ish hours after starting pitocin.
First: Induced because my blood pressure was going up a little bit and I was at due date anyway. She was born four days past due date. Induction was really rough. My body did not want to cooperate and my cervix wouldn’t dilate. I definitely felt like my body was not ready.
2: water broke at 6 days overdue; still zero contractions. Waited 5 hrs in hospital and then got pitocin. Was really worried about it after my first experience, but everything went much more smoothly this time and progress was more like I expected. He was born at 41 weeks.
Third was a C-section for a breech baby, scheduled three days prior to due date. I had zero signs of any progress at that point, either.
Fourth baby was a repeat C-section, and she was born one day before her due date. Again, zero signs of anything going on up to that point. I’m sure I would’ve been overdue with both of them.
Dd1- induced at 39.5 because my blood pressure was getting up there Dd2- really wanted to go natural but I was induced at 41.3 with no progress Dd3 induced at 39 because I was done and my doctor let me after having two prior inductions.

I was induced with my first at 39w5d because of concerns of iugr. Turns out baby was just small and 12 years later is still small. Minimal dilation - went in night before and had cytotec and then pitocin in the morning. Babe was born at 6:36pm.
I was induced with my second at 41w because babe was too cozy. I was like 3 cm dilated for a week and he still wouldn't come out. Went in the morning, pitocin started around 7am. Babe born at 11:30am. Very quick and easy. Once he realized he couldn't stay he was like "ok fine, I'm here!"

Yes. I went to 41+5 with DD1 and induced just because of the number of days overdue. We induced a bit earlier than I planned with DD2 at 40+4, but she had flipped breech on her due date and then flipped back 48 hours later so we wanted her out as soon as she went back to vertex. Both times I never made any progress on my own - no dilation, no contractions, nothing. They’d still be in there if they could be.
I was induced with my second because my first was so big (9 lb 13 oz) at 40+3 (I went into labor naturally at 40+2) that my OB didn’t want me going overdue again. With needing childcare arrangements the second time around I was on board for that.
I had two rounds of a cervix ripening drug that wasn’t cervadil (wish I could recall the name, like cervadil it was a pill placed at my cervix) and that sent my body into labor on its own from there. Induced and delivered at 39+6. I think she would have come within a week or so on her own since my body took over pretty easily, but girl had no plans of being early.

I went to 42 weeks with my first and had to have help at the hospital after 24 hours. My second was 41 weeks 5 days, but ended up being caught by firefighters when she came super fast once labor started.
I was induced at 41w4d with DD1. She was born via c-section at 42 weeks. I went into natural labor with DD2 at 40w3d. No induction, though my membranes were stripped.
"Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you've got a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies-"God damn it, you've got to be kind.”
I wasn’t induced with my first (he was born on his due date). I was induced with my second at 40+ 5…he was measuring big and there were no signs of labor. He was over 10lbs at birth. I was induced with my third at 35+6 because I failed multiple stress tests.
I was induced for 2/4 pregnancies. First I went j to labor on my due date, second I was induced at 40+2 because they were worried about the heart rate, third I was scheduled for induction at 41w but went into labor at 40+6, and 4th I was induced due to my age (at 39+4). I don't think this is something you can predict, but all of my kids were either "on time" or late.
First kid: induced at 40 weeks on the dot with just cytotec (convenience scheduling... I wanted my doctor to be on call that day). My body kicked into labor on its own from there (never needed pitocin, water broke on its own). 12 hours start to finish.
Second kid: body kicked into labor at 40 weeks on the dot, which we discovered at my 40 week check, I was 4 cm dilated. But only contracting every 10-15 minutes. So we augmented with pitocin and broke my water to speed things up. I had been contracting daily for 3 months by that point with a full week of prodromal labor, so I was like, GET THIS BABY OUT OF ME! In hindsight, I could have avoided the pitocin if I had just gotten my membranes swept then walked a lot, but a) so damn tired of contractions and b) once I hit 6 cm, I transition fast so I wanted to ensure I was actually at the hospital by the time I was 6 cm. 6.5 hours start to finish.
I was induced with my second because my first was so big (9 lb 13 oz) at 40+3 (I went into labor naturally at 40+2) that my OB didn’t want me going overdue again. With needing childcare arrangements the second time around I was on board for that.

#1: Induced at 41 weeks. DD was born at 41w3d. Labor was maybe 12 hours and the whole experience was a nightmare. I switched OBs as a result.
#2: Different OB group that was ok with going to 42 weeks as long as everything looked good. Labor started on it's own on 41w3d and DS was born on the next day. I felt so different with that pregnancy and was sure I was going early. Nope.
