My daughter has super knotty hair. We use the Cantu for Kids brand in shampoo, conditioner and leave in. Her hair is still knotty so it’s not miracle product or anything but seems to work well enough.
Mine definitely switched out of baby stuff because of the same thing. I have tried many brands and found it really depends on their hair type. What do you use on your hair?
I tend to go days between washing my hair, so getting higher end brands tend to last pretty long. You might be able to go the same way with her since a little would probably go a long way.

Not a kids specific one, but Nexxus shampoo and conditioner have been great for my DD’s super tangly hair. I get it at Costco cheaper than I’ve seen it anywhere else.

My hair is curly, so I’ve started using curly products, but hers is straight.
Oh, Bernadine, does your daughter have curly/wavy hair? We have been searching for something for C and finally found a line that she really likes. It really brings out her curls and leaves her hair soft.
I bought the travel set to see how C would like it. I agree with the reviews that it does work best to use all the products. For your daughter, the spray leave in conditioner would be helpful for brushing hair between washes.
Big kid uses (9 with very thick wavy hair) uses what I use. Little kid (3 w/ spiral curls) uses just conditioner, but the same that the big kid and I both use. OGX coconut curls conditioner for all three of us at the moment, but I do switch it up occasionally. Right now I'm liking Not Your Mother's charcoal shampoo (but not for the little one's curls).
I'll also add that baby shampoo is actually really harsh on hair. Its formulated to be gentle on the eyes, which means at pH of 7. But our hair is closer to a pH of 5, so baby shampoo can cause some damage, plus it's also usually cheap and effective surfactants rather than the expensive gentle surfactants.
My kid is older and recently grew his hair long. He has super thick wavy hair.
One thing that really helped was teaching him to brush it before getting into the shower and also instructing him that he didn't need to emulate the commercials where they pile the hair on top of their heads. He likes the Kristen Ess Micellar Shampoo and the one that comes in what looks like a mustard bottle. He skips the conditioner and uses a spray detangler like Eva NYC Mane Magic (I got a huge one at Costco). This keeps him out of my spendy stuff.
When my kids moved past the baby shampoo but we weren't quite ready for non-tear free we used Suave. Once my girls got a decent amount of hair and could wash themselves without issue with switched to Nexxus which I get at Costco. I use it on my hair as well and have been very happy with it. We did actually try using Pantene for a while because it was less expensive, but it was awful for my hair.
Have you tried a clarifying shampoo? that makes the biggest difference on knots for my kids. Followed by conditioner. The kid stuff usually made it all worse.
DD just uses mine (Keratin Complex). She only washes her hair every few days so she just uses my shower when she washes her hair.
Kid shampoo seems to be mostly junk.
For a clarifying shampoo, we really like the clear Neutrogena shampoo. She uses it in the summer 1-2x a week and any other time she's in a chlorinated pool.

I like anything that comes in a pump bottle. We started with Sauve, but I did upgrade dd to something L'oreal that my friend rec'd when swimming was killing her hair.

We went on vacation when DD was 4. She was instant on using the hotel shampoo. Best accidental find we have made. It was Paul Mitchell original. I have bought that for her ever since. DS has super fine thin hair. He just uses whatever is the bathroom he’s getting a shower in. I do spray it with It’a a 10 leave in once or twice a week. It helps with the crunchy feeling. He can’t use conditioner. It makes his head super oily
We still use kid shampoo because of the no tears aspect, but once DD had hair below collar length we started using my conditioner (Tresemme) on it as well.

I use Bread products in my son's hair. If we're out, I use the Shea moisture Manuka honey intensive moisture masque for conditioner (we don't shampoo his hair, just co-wash 1x a week).
L’Oréal Elvive extraordinary clay, shampoo and conditioner. It works great for my DD’s long thick hair and it’s like $3 a bottle on Amazon.
I also have a Johnson’s kids soft and shiny bottle I use for my son who has short hair. It’s like a step above their baby shampoo, but still gentle. DD uses that if they bathe together and it also works fine for her. She does need to use conditioner in addition.
