Might want to allot even more. Our contractor was working to install out new bathroom fan and re-duct our dryer. He found concerning dry rot in the trusses of our roof.
We spent over $15K 8 years ago for a new roof w/proper ventilation, etc. He said the ridge vent is too small and it's not properly venting. There's a leak in one of the roof pipes too and the plywood needs to be replacing, other plywood needs attention too.
So I'm STEAMING mad at this roofing company right now. I'm waiting on a call for them to send someone out. I'm sure they won't take any responsibility for the truss issues, though I can't help but wonder if poor ventilation contributed.
I still need to pick tile, but between this issue and the joists this is over $7K in unexpected structural costs.
