The rug for our family room was just delivered, 3 weeks after I placed the order. Can’t wait to see how it looks! After I clean all the toys off the floor, lol.
Our washer broke-- husband declared the motor went. Bought a new one. He declares actually it's a belt. I placed him on a rocket ship and he lives amongst the stars now.
I have another stomach bug. This time it hit me during a 6 hour block of teaching because why wouldn't it.
Please, universe, it's TEW much.
ETA: Also he didn't place the drainage hose correctly and it jumped out of the drain while the machine was draining a bulky load and we flooded the basement, voila!
Bernadine, YES, so tired all the time. For trunk or treat, my favorite a friend did was a monster face- black trash bags hanging from the roof/trunk depending on what kind of car, big eyes and teeth cut out of poster board, and a strip of red fabric hanging out as a tongue.
I have a lot of fun stuff planned for the weekend, and I'm really resenting today and tomorrow, especially since I'm in the office.
I forgot to renew my drivers license back in August. It expired the week we moved and with all that going on I legitimately just forgot about it. I had to present my ID for something the other day and the person was like “you know this is expired, right?”
So I’ve been driving around with an expired license since the beginning of August and had no clue. Now I get to go sit at the DMV for however long today to finally get my new license. Bright side - I’ll finally be rid of the horrendous photo I’ve been carrying around for the last 4 years. Thank god for small miracles, I guess.
I posted a photograph to a local historical society FB page for the town where my Dad grew up. Turns out, two different people had my grandmother as a music teacher in the late 1950s and commented about how great she was and how much of an impact she had on them. Folks, I had no idea that she'd done any teaching after she married! Such a fun surprise.
sproctopus, only liking for your husband now in space. I hope he enjoys his new place.
It's been 13 years since we had a puppy and wow it's like babies, everything is different. We're thinking of doing 2 crates, one for downstairs and one for in our bedroom, but too many choices.
I woke up late which means everyone woke up late, then I was stuck in traffic and realllllly late for work, and now everyone and everything is annoying.

We are doing our final walk through and signing for our house this afternoon. My husband is traveling, so hopefully there won't be any delays with him getting home in time.
I went to bed like 2 hours earlier than normal last night and still woke up over an hour late this morning. Wth self! Luckily my kids are at their Dad's and I wfh so I didn't have to get up and rush around to get any where. I actually woke up around the time my cleaning people were supposed to get here but she texted me that they are running late as well, so I guess I'm not alone in my rough morning start.
My H hurt his back at work recently. He's had back issues for a while, but he really tweaked something bad. I kept harping on him to file a workers' comp claim but for ***reasons*** he never did and now his treatment is going to cost us thousands of dollars. To say that I'm pissed off would be the understatement of the year. Workers' Comp insurance is what I do for a living and I know how royally screwed we now are because he didn't file a claim.

Yes to 2 crates! We have that for our puppy and if makes things easier even if we don’t need it.

I fell asleep on the sofa at 7:30 last night! After I moved to bed, I didn’t wake up again til 5:30. That NEVER happens to me, especially not recently. I wasn’t even mad when the baby woke up ready to go at 5:30 am.
It seems even when I try to be organized and do everything right it's still 1 step forward, 2 steps back. I went to bed early and slept straight through instead of waking up half the night. Woke up at 5am and couldn't get back to sleep. My son nailed down what he wanted to be for Halloween and I ordered everything early. Pants that were supposed to come today won't be here until the 29th. I don't even believe it will be here then, but his school trunk or treat is tomorrow anyway. I signed up to bring cupcakes to school next Friday and have everything I need to make and individually wrap 48 cupcakes. I'm so looking forward to making and decorating them, now I have an appointment in the city the day before and it's going to be rushed now. Tons of traffic and it will take all day. That night is my book club and it is literally the only thing I go for myself and I'm not missing it. When am I making these cupcakes now??AND I have to work on cupcake day when I'm usually off. I mailed a check for our HELOC and it never got there. It ended up being sent back to me by the USPS because the envelope and documents were damaged. In the meantime the next payment was received by the bank. Instead of applying a portion of that payment to the outstanding amount, they just left it unpaid. Now I'm getting late fees and notices about that missed payment. Our pediatrician started outsourcing their billing and now I'm getting billed for son's well visit because they obviously billed it wrong. My husband had surgery and was out on disability for a few months. The hoops he had to go through to get his union to send the disability checks was ridiculous. He went back to work in August and he's still waiting on a check for the last 3 weeks he was out of work. If you're on disability and don't have savings, I guess you just starve or get evicted! I am so tired of trying to fix these things. I feel like nothing takes 1 try anymore and I'm sick of it.
We’re participating in our humane society’s trunk or treat next Friday, and I can’t decide how to decorate the car. Any ideas?
I decided to do one for DSs school but mine is Harry Potter theme because I have to buy nothing and I just have to arrange the things I already have in my trunk 🤣
My H accepted the job he was offered! I am so happy for him. It's been a loooong haul getting to this point. Like, we met 8 years ago yesterday and he was a 3rd year PhD student at the time, so his future has been uncertain for about 10 years already. Now he finally has a stable job where he theoretically could work for the next 20+ years, and it's doing something he thinks he will really enjoy. I'm proud of him.
Me, I'm mostly just still sitting around here, recovering from surgery. I felt really tired yesterday but more normal today. I've had some really mild chest pain which I think is probably gas? It doesn't feel like anything more serious but of course I'm always anxious about health stuff so it's annoying. Since I am taking injection blood thinners, I stopped taking the Ibuprofin prescribed (and just taking Tylenol instead) and I can definitely feel the difference pain-wise, but it's still not awful so I feel like that's ok? I am super glad I'm not working this week but also already feeling bored of just sitting around. I do have some homework for my classes that I really need to work on, so I may do some of that later today.
I was debating about getting an Apple Watch with my birthday money and saw they were all back ordered everywhere which of course made me think about it more. On a whim I checked Best Buy and there was literally one in stock in any configuration within 100 miles and it happened to be at the closest location to us so I went for it.
It was so funny, I picked it up and the staff was really excited and then people in line were calling out asking me if it was the watch and how I got so lucky. Someone even stopped me in the parking lot. I guess it’s the hot item.
Any app or fun band suggestions? Do people get screen protectors? I don’t use them on my phone.
justrak I saw a car decorated as a crocodile with the mouth as the trunk in a parking lot recently. It looked pretty simple to make with bags and craft paper.
I did it yesterday and now I can’t send pictures via text to android phones.
I just got the new iphone over the weekend and was able to text DH a picture earlier this week. I only remembered because it was my amazon return code because you can't forward those emails.

dochas that's a lot, I'm sorry. The only useful thing I have is that I bet if you make the cupcakes 2 days in advance they'll still be fine, so if that day is less busy for you, do it.

For anyone who has followed the saga of "Emily tries to get her family to also be in Chile", I am thrilled to report that my son met his grandparents about an hour ago. Today is the very best day ever.
We are doing peer group practice presentations and the other groups instructor is worst that ours. The other group's slides were awful and she's going on and on about how she doesn't like our graphics.
Uh ok? It's literally a background with a gray box with text. I hate overly done slides.

H and I qualified for a Covid booster thanks to work and it KICKED MY ASS, I got it last Friday and just today am I getting back to normal. Holy crap. I think it’s because I didn’t chug water like i did with my first two vaccinations. H had his a few days after mine and I told him to chug water. He did and he was totally fine. but I’m glad for the extra protection bc going into courts, jails, police precincts, peoples houses for statements, makes me nervous as fuck. I’m still not ready to do normal people things, but maybe once the kids are vaccinated I’ll get there.
I reached the FIRST weight goal i set for myself—-in 2019. HAHA. Better late than never?
OH: Petsmart has pet costumes 50% off if anyone needs one. I got Frank a few b/c I.found a really awesome photo editing app and I’ve been spamming instagram with dog Halloween pictures.

I ordered a new Samsung 21 phone last week and its not due to come in until after Thanksgiving. Boo
Today my youngest has a cross country meet and I am so proud of him. He is literally one of the last ones to finish for the boys (he runs and walks quickly intermittently) but he never gives up and is committed to improving his time each week. He is up to about a 12.5 min pace/mile.
I sent an application for a dog (16 week lab) through a local rescue. It says allow 72 hours for a response. Its been 48 and I just want them to contact me!! I'm not holding my breathe though. It may just not work out. We rent a condo, no fenced in yard, never owned a dog before, i didn't know what to put for discipline approach. Afterwards I heard I was probably supposed to say reward system. oops. I said i never had a dog but was willing to learn, take a class or read books or do whatever is needed. How they don't say no.
