For anyone who has followed the saga of "Emily tries to get her family to also be in Chile", I am thrilled to report that my son met his grandparents about an hour ago. Today is the very best day ever.
This is such great news! Enjoy your well deserved visit.

I've never liked those Pop Funko things, but a bunch of my co-workers do, so now I can say I've joined the hype and bought a few as gifts. I also bought one for DH as a joke because he likes Brendan Fraser (in the Mummy).
I'm on a search committee for a learning specialist. Special educators, and those who can read an IEP or 504 plan don't get enough credit for the amazing work they do <3
Im having big issues with DS1s therapist (see my MM post) and I had really hoped a firm email would garner a response but it hasn't =( I don't understand how such a well respected therapist can be so so very bad about communication.
Wasn’t there someone here who said her cat turned on her stove? My foster cat turned the knob enough this morning that the gas came on but didn’t light. Thankfully I heard it before I left so nobody got carbon monoxide poisoning and my house didn’t blow.

It's time to switch. She doesn't value your time or treating your child. I don't care what anyone says, the parents need to be involved also.

I keep these on my stove knobs because my dog did this once when she was a puppy. She's a very well behaved adult, but not worth the risk.
We’re participating in our humane society’s trunk or treat next Friday, and I can’t decide how to decorate the car. Any ideas?
We just saw a cool one that was Pirate themed. They had plywood walking toward their car so the kids could "walk the plank" and then they had a bunch of skeletons dressed as pirates and chests with gold coins, etc in their trunk and around their car.
I started a new job on Monday, and so far so good! I had some reservations about the director during my interview, but they appear to be unfounded - she is MUCH more easygoing than I thought she was going to be. I also found out that once I'm all trained and ready to be on my own, I'll be working a hybrid schedule which I am thrilled about! I know it's too early to be making a claim like this, but this seems like a place where I could be for a long time, which is exciting - especially after my last job, which I was only in for about a year and a half and knew even from the interview that it wasn't a good fit but thought I could muscle through for a while. It's a relief to feel genuinely good about my job.

dochas that's a lot, I'm sorry. The only useful thing I have is that I bet if you make the cupcakes 2 days in advance they'll still be fine, so if that day is less busy for you, do it.

I have been so stressed about work, kids, schedules…life, that it should be no surprise that I woke up with a raging headache. Even my dreams have been stressful.
I ended up calling in sick and went back to sleep for 3 hours. Now I’m eating comfort food and cuddling with my dog. I really needed a break.
I am trying not to cry. My sister and I spent the last five months getting our hoarder mother out of her house. She moved out on Monday. The process has been awful with trying to get her to not flip out about purging her stuff. We got her to agree to two relo cubes from Upack. We pared it down to the things that mean the most to her for her new life in Florida (she left Texas).
They just called and the one that had the few pieces of furniture and her breakables (which were all really well packed) was dropped off a forklift when it was being transferred. We have no idea what to expect when she opens it tomorrow.
@princessbubbleyum, I'm so sorry. I hope that most of the items are in good condition when she opens it tomorrow That process sounds difficult and stressful for you and to have this happen at the end of it all seems especially tough.

Oh my goodness, I just gasped reading that. I am so sorry. Praying the pod dropped straight down and did not roll and that her breakables were on top.
I have been sleeping like crap all week but last night was the wrost. Woke up wide awake at 3:30AM and could not fall back asleep.
So of course I am dragging but forcing myself to not take a nap, in hopes of getting a good night sleep tonight. Caffeine has no effect on me but sugar helps a bit. So of course I am all sugared up from a pop, a white hot chocolate and now an Xlarge smoothie. My stomach is probably going to retaliate pretty soon,

Thanks. I'm hoping for straight down and not off the side of a truck. Right now the unknown of what to expect is stressing both my sister and I out so much. My sister is going to record it being moved off the truck tomorrow and have the guys stand there while she records opening the doors so we have full documentation of what it all looks like.
@princessbubbleyum, that is so upsetting. I’m really sorry. I sincerely hope the damage is minimal. What a terrible thing to happen after going through all of that.

Thanks. They told me how this never happens and I was like "yeah - that doesn't bring us any comfort."

This past week and a half have been shit. Last week I got this blister-like spot on my forehead, then a few days later, my lymph nodes in my neck and under my jaw swelled up and were so sore I could barely turn my neck. Then this week my eyes started swelling and I've had enough, finally got into the doctor. They're pretty sure I have shingles and thought it might be spreading to my eyes so they got me into an eye doctor. Luckily, it was not shingles in my eyes, just allergies, but by this point, I'm just over it all.
