Sitting at the airport about to fly home. We did two days at Disneyland. Unfortunately stupid me waited until about two weeks before our trip to get tickets and CA was sold out! Even park hoppers. We went Mon/wed. Monday was packed and Wed was better. We were still able to walk on to a lot of rides though including pirates. Most waits were under 30 min. The longest wait was about an hour for Haunted mansion. It’s nightmare before Christmas theme right now but I really prefer the original. It’s one of my must do rides! Monday we went on Rise of the Resistance and it’s the best ride I’ve ever been on! Absolutely incredible and I’m not even a Star Wars fan. We all loved it!! The whole SW area was really well done.
On Tuesday we rented a car -they gave us a Jeep Wrangler so that was fun and went to Newport to visit a family friend. We all went to lunch at the Beachcomber at Crystal Cove and walked around. It was a gorgeous day weather wise!
We stayed at the JW Marriott at the Anaheim Garden walk. It’s a beautiful hotel and there didn’t seem to be a lot of people staying there. About a .5 mile walk to DLR so not bad. I had booked the Springhill suites but then we decided we wanted two rooms so this worked out well. And it’s a lot nicer! Lol They have a few restaurants there and some shops/entertainment stuff. We also went to Downtown Disney one night for dinner/crazy shakes at Black Tap. We’ve been to the one in Vegas and loved it- really good food! Long line to get in but it moved fast.
It was a great trip! I definitely prefer WDW/MK overall just because it’s more spread out/better crowd control but DLR was still great and I’m glad we went! Plus you can’t beat California weather especially in the fall-it’s perfect!!
I'm glad you had a great trip! I miss DL and it's fun to read about someone going there.
I had to laugh when I read your review, because I miss the Nightmare Before Christmas Haunted Mansion so much, and prefer the Disneyland original Haunted Mansion to WDW'S version.
Actually, we much prefer DL to MK, because it is smaller, and because it just seems like you can feel Walt Disney there. We go to Epcot often, and love AK and HS, but we don't go to MK often at all.
We haven't been to DL since we moved from SoCal to Central FL, but when we do go, I hope it will be when it's TNBC at Haunted Mansion.
