Today H and I installed this storm door.
Our back door is original to the house (1950's). It had an original screen door that was in horrible shape. We had been meaning to replace the screen door but just never got to it. About a month ago our friend's dog launched herself through the screen so we finally bought a new storm door.
Because it was just a screen door the wood door finish on the main door is not in great shape. So now in the spring we will refinish the door.
We installed the one below. It advertised 45 minutes install, which I did not even remotely believe. It took us an hour to get our old door off but the new door truly took 45 minutes and the only skills and tools it required was drilling holes (drill bit provided so you didn't have to guess what size) and putting screws in the holes you drill.
I've never installed any other storm door so I can't compare to another brand. But this was easy and fast and looks great compared to our old piece of crap. I don't know why we put this off for so long.

Congratulations!! Great job! And I'm impressed - I'm lousy with home projects.
I love having a storm door! On nice days, I'll leave my wood door open so my cats can sit in the door and watch the chipmonks on the front step. I don't even change to a screen for the summer as it would be big pain.
"Why did we wait so long" is a common refrain in my home! PIP if you have a chance!
At our house it's "We should have done this a long time ago", although DH has learned not to say it unless he's willing to be on the receiving end of a look that could kill, since the fault usually lies on him. lol

I have this storm door on one of my doors and love it! My front door I have to swap out the full glass for the full screen but I like having the full screen to get more air circulating. I also rescreened it with privacy screen so no one can see in when the inner door is open. But I love the one-handed all in one door for where it is.
