I’ve been teaching David how to blow bubbles, and man my jaw is SORE today. I took Advil, it’s that bad. I guess that means I’m old then.
I had my postpartum/post ER checkup this morning. Joey was so good, I’m all clear, and I’ve lost 15lbs from my prepregnancy weight!
Does anyone do kettle bell workouts? eddy maybe? I want to tone up my arms and get some core stability. I love yoga but don’t love doing it on my own. I just want something I can do at home to gain some strength. H and Lucy both told me a set of kettlebells is a terrible Christmas present. They keep shooting my ideas Down. This is what I want though! Punks

The boys both got their first shots on Saturday, no side effects at all. Not even a sore arm! I'm putting together a 'lesson plan' so to speak in lieu of thanksgiving, learn about the native American tribes that resided where we do now, still putting it together but I'm just not into thanksgiving in any way shape or form, but I also don't want to just ignore it and all the whitewashed 'history' we've all been told.
I got the MOST AMAZING peppermint candle the other day from Goose Creek. It's hard to find a good peppermint candle but this gets my vote. It's a *tad* too sweet, but again, the closest I've come to perfect in ---ever.
One of my puppy parents just got engaged, would it be weird to give them a free day of doggie care as their present from me? We're definitely on a service/client relationship. They're so nice and friendly, but we're not "friends" if that makes sense.
I need ham like water Like breath, like rain I need ham like mercy From Heaven's gate Sometimes ham salad or casserole or ham that’s free range, all natural I need ham
I'm at my allergist's office getting repeat skin testing because I mentioned at my telehealth appointment last week that I thought my allergies were getting worse. But so far out of the 28 skin pokes, to my laymen's eye I don't appear to be reacting to anything. The histamine poke is itching like crazy and is a big ol' welt though.
I mean, I guess this is a good sign, because I really wasn't keen on the idea of restarting allergy shots. But it doesn't explain why I've been miserable the past two years in spring/fall.

I mean, I'm sure they'll take it and appreciate it, but I don't think it's remotely close to necessary. You could give them a discount for their honeymoon if they take one? How do you even know they got engaged? Did they tell you? It gets more or less creepy depending on if they told you or if you just happened to notice a ring lol

I had an off weekend with Covid memory loss. I don’t know what we did or what was going on 1/2 the time. We went to see H’s aunt and I forgot their names and my FIL’s name. We have been together over 20 years. Then his aunt was poking at me about getting old. That made me feel worse about all of it. She wasn’t being mean just trying to make me feel better. 😭 I am starting to think it’s never coming back all the way.
Apparently they took the GAP out of the big mall near me. I only found this out AFTER I lugged a few hundred dollars of returns there 🤦🏻♀️
A newish friend (a new neighbor) said she wants to have me over for wine/dessert/something once a week every week during these 7 weeks when my mom was dying. Just to help me get through it for the first year. So sweet and unnecessary and I really appreciate it. I’m still not entirely convinced the house wasn’t a bad decision but neighbors like this make me think it was a good one.
Sounds like a sweet neighbor. Ignore if too nosy, but what do you not like about your house? Anything you can change?

, she follows frank on Instagram w/her professional page,I followed back and she posted her engagement on that. She’s a kinda celebrity—ish so many thousands of people know she’s engaged. I wasn’t creeping, lol.

Everyone at the allergist office is super confused about how I'm basically reacting to nothing, when I had such a strong reaction to grass last time. So they poked me again to recheck, and now I'm waiting another 15 minutes.
I'm up to 41 pokes I think. 31 of just the skin pricks, and 10 intradermal.
So far I've only had a mild reaction to dust mites.

I didn’t react to raspberries when I had skin testing done, even though it was like a control Bc I have documented reactions (itchy throat, rash and asthma symptoms). It was so weird! Every time I’ve eaten raspberries my allergic reaction has gotten worse too.
H is gone all week and I'm so excited! lol, love him, but also love not having to share the TV or worry about a "real" dinner. Not to mention my mom is watching the kids two evenings while I have book club and pottery class plus a short work week. I am actually excited for this week!
These weeks are my favorite! Enjoy!
DH was supposed to be gone for a week last month and the whole thing got ruined because DS2 for Covid. I was so bummed. H isn’t traveling much anymore, so I was really geared up for it. Lol

That’s really sweet. What a good friend!
I didn’t realize you were struggling with the house decision. What’s going on with that?

I hope they can control your symptoms better!
Thanks. I'm still waiting to talk to the doctor again. He double booked himself and snuck me in so that if we did have to restart allergy shots we could order the serum in this year's insurance. I'm guessing we'll end up staying the course on my existing treatment plan, but who knows. 🤷🏻♀️

Truly random- it bugs me when people gender inanimate objects. Like a house- “isn’t she pretty?!” Or an art work “she’s almost done” most feminine gendered. It’s weird and it annoys me for no real reason
My period is always early. Annoyingly so. Given that I use an app to track it, it makes sense that eventually the algorithm would be off enough that I would start later than it says. But am I enjoying that my period is starting late? No. Because I am too weirded out about it. Given I had a tubal ligation four years ago, it is incredibly unlikely that this is anything other than a natural variation in my cycle. I’m telling you guys anyway in the hopes that this post will jump start it. Lol
I have a coworker who has a...strong...personality. He's pretty abrasive and loud and doesn't really get along with a lot of people. He's EXTREMELY intelligent at his job and with knowledge of our industry as a whole, so he's really a good asset to have in that regard. His people skills just absolutely suck. Well, one of our admins just put in her notice because of this coworker (she told me he's 90% of the reason why she's leaving). This now makes 3 people who have quit because of this coworker. I'm at a loss as to how this company still holds on to him with the turnover he creates.
I quit my job in May. I was/am still getting emails from the online portal we used for scheduling and payroll. I logged into my account just for shits and giggles, and yep, she still has me listed as a manager. I'm trying to decide how much of a problem this is.
My fucking sister is letting me and more importantly, my boys, down again. She is supposed to babysit and give us our first kid free 24 hours in 2 years on Friday. Today she tells us “change of plans I can only do 18hours bc I made plans with friends”. Ya I know I should still be grateful she’s helping at all but now we have to change our plans because she is ditching the kids to go see her friends and their kids.

We’re just finding $$$ problems the inspection didn’t/couldn’t have found and there are a few things we knew we would need to add (a new shed) and give up to be in this area (a bigger living/dining room) so now I’m second guessing did we rush into this house. It’s a great house and we really wouldn’t use anything bigger on a regular basis.Honestly it’s probably more to do with the state of my mental health than the actual house decision.

Ha, I can't believe she is running a successful business. I am SO TEMPTED to look at the sales data since I left, but I'm not going to because that would be unethical. I did check the time sheets since I've left, just for myself, just to be sure she's not doing something shady.

Having you avoided taking antihistamines for at least a week prior to your testing? They may do RAST blood testing in addition to the skin test, that sometimes gives a different picture of things.
I caught a cold from my kids and feel like garbage. I slept horribly last night. Not a great way to start the work week.
Same here. The is the first time I have been sick since March 2020. I ended up calling out of work and slept an additional 2 hours after the kids went to school.

Yikes. Just got a call from DD's teacher that she punched a boy in the stomach today when he touched her shoulder trying to cut in front of her in line. This is unusual behavior for her. Not excited to be dealing with this at home later :/

Was it the lunch line? Cause I'd do the same, honestly.
On a more serious note, I'm sorry that happened and hope she's ok since you say that's unusual for her.

It was the lunch line lol. I'm curious to hear what she has to say, but she's 6 and in the tall tales stage so it's hard to know what to believe. My first thought was maybe this boy has been getting under her skin for a bit and she kinda snapped on him, she hasn't mentioned anything about him bothering her though and she's usually quick to tell us if someone is. Even tougher is no one witnessed the actual exchange, just the fallout of him crying and having to go to the nurse. The teacher talked with her, she was very upset and said she didn't like him touching her shoulder, and she ended up apologizing for hitting him. Guess I'll see what we get out of her later!
*open to parenting advice on this talk with her btw! Do I let her know I'm not mad and just want to know what happened?*

Hanger is real lol. I don't have kids so I won't offer parenting advice. But I sympathize with her.

Mostly. He told me to avoid them for 72 hours, but I just stopped taking them the day he told me that, so it was more like 5 days, maybe 6 (because I can't remember if I took any the day of the telehealth appointment).
He thinks given my symptoms that what I'm actually reacting to is smoke (we've had a lot of bad forest fire smoke the past couple of summers here on the west coast) and barometric pressure changes. Some of my more annoying symptoms are pressure behind my eye and a sort of fluttering in my ear drum, but only during certain parts of the year.
It turns out I can actually use current nasal spray with much greater frequency than I currently am, and that sinus rinses can help too, so we're going to keep my same meds, and just up the spray and do the rinses as needed. (I had done those more regularly but stopped because I find them kind of tedious.) It's also a thing that sudafed can help, but sudafed makes my mouth itch, so that's a no go.
My dust mite reaction also means that when we finally get around to our house remodel that getting rid of our carpet will be a good idea.
Was it the lunch line? Cause I'd do the same, honestly.

I'm not a parent so take this for what it's worth but my first thought was good for her! You don't touch me without my consent and expect me to be ok with it. Sure, hitting isn't necessarily the right answer, but maybe it was just a reaction to someone inappropriately touching her and catching her off guard. I hope someone is talking to that little boy about keeping his hands to himself as well!
