I have been thinking about my basement table situation. I'd like to get a formica table, as crazy as that may sound, b/c I want the basement table to be totally durable for kid parties and craft projects and not have to worry about it one bit. Has anyone had one made? How did you find someone to do this?
There are tons of laminate/formica tabletops you can buy online. Then you just have to add legs. MIght be cheaper to do that than have something custom built. Maybe check a countertop store? They can probably make one.
I looked on FB and have almost bought one for super cheap, but it looks kind of rough and retro and I wanted something that still LOOKED decent...so I don't know. I might just keep my existing beat-up wood table for now after all since I don't want to deal with moving it! Thinking about it overnight.

You could paint your wooden table. My kitchen table is a solid, nice wood table that I refinished and stained. Kid used it for one too many craft projects, so I sanded it and painted it. I used a Sherwin williams emerald paint. I asked the store what I should use for the intended use. I did it during Covid times and it looks great. We eat at the table every day. Wipes clean pretty easily. Just an option to refresh what you have if it is working.
LOL, I got the table today from Marketplace!! The lady just said she'd give it to me for free. It's VERY RETRO. I think we are leaving our current table where it is, and using this one somewhere else.
