We'll be going mid-August and staying at Caribbean Beach. Between flight prices and limitations due to school and work schedules it's really the only time we could go.
Best tips to make the trip as enjoyable as possible?
Bring the little spray bottles with fans and some cooling towels. Schedule any sit-down meals for lunch so you get a nice air-conditioned break in the middle part of the day to break up the heat. Go to allll the air-conditioned shows. Definitely get Genie+ to avoid long lines in the heat. Build in a pool or water park day to relax and enjoy the water!
Basically every tip I have has to do with the heat because it is all I could think about when I went in August one time.

We’ve gone in August a couple of times. The only way I can handle it is by going to the parks early in the morning, taking a mid-day break between about 1-5 pm, and then going back to the parks for dinner and some more rides or shows later in the day. We spend the afternoon at the pool or resting in our room. We would all be way too cranky if we stayed at the park all day long in the heat.
It’s definitely doable. Wear appropriate clothing, drink lots of water. Despite the heat, many of the lines have shaded areas/fans or even indoor portions. Mix in some indoor shows in air conditioning, a sit-down lunch in air conditioning, it’s not too bad.

A lot of the tips we use have been given- we go for rope drop, then eat a sit down lunch. This gives us time to cool off and decide if we want to stay in the park a little more or go back to the hotel to swim. We also like having lunch as the sit down (biggest) meal because then we don't have to go back to the parks in the evening (like for a dinner reservation)- we can just get food from the resort, if we want to keep swimming or have a lazy night.
We usually go for a week and we end up doing laundry sometime during the trip because we change clothes frequently- I'll be honest and admit I do not have enough bras to change out of my sweaty morning one into a clean afternoon/evening one without doing laundry at some point. I bring a pop-up hamper to and some tide pods with us to carry to the laundry (and keep the room neater with the hamper).
We go in the summer frequently and it's always hot but some years are worse than others with heat. You just have to embrace it. No matter what you do, you're going to be hot. You're going to sweat. I think going in with that mentality helps.
Agree about so much of this! But I forgot about the laundry! We left a trip to Universal early once in July because we ran out of clean clothes and has not thought about how sweaty everyone would be!
For CBR, request a room close to the skyliner. There are two stations, one right by Jamaica and one right by Aruba/Riviera. We stayed in Jamaica 42 and it was a quick block walk to the skyliner, and just slightly further to the main building/pool bar. Each village has a quiet pool, too. Everyone else has hit the heat tips.
