I have a new winter coat in progress. After that, I have two bags for other people (that need to be done by xmas). Then maybe some new shirts with my new favorite fabric print. Then new curtains for three rooms of our house. UGH, so much to do.
I'm coming down to the wire on a baby blanket for a kid due in early Jan. I'm honestly not loving what it looks like right now - the colors aren't what I dreamed and they're coming together kinda bleh with the order I picked and I'm kicking myself over it. I had a better idea and second guessed myself and did something different and i don't like it. I hope the final product works because at this point it's too late to change direction.

Color order I wish I'd gone with:
I think it looks lovely. It's like a wedding from the perception of guests vs. the bride who was planning a lot of detail - they won't know the details that were envisioned but not achieved - they'll just get the beautiful end result and will be blown away!
I'm trying to whip up a very basic quilt for my daughter for her bed, for her bday the first week of January. I forgot how much longer a twin quilt top takes versus a lap quilt. Oops.
And I need to finish a scarf I'm making using Anna's Hummingbird yarn by oregonpachey.

I made this for a friend who's really into her Danish heritage. I'm all in on this Arabesque tile ornament (as lacey can attest!) and I'm making them for all my family and friends. I wish I'd taken a pic of the back, even though it's just red felt. I glued a gold bail at the top for hanging.

Also the block on the right with my friend this weekend. I didn't measure my reindeer and it was too tall for the block but I said eff it and did it anyway. I need to step away from the Cricut groups...lol
Trying to get presents made. I’ve been making pottery so using that to give everyone handmade gifts. Nothing is ready yet (some in kiln, some still need glazing, and some I haven’t even started lol) but hopefully I’ll do it all in time!
Also making some stuff for myself in between because why shouldn’t I.
Finished these last night, which I’m calling my jug mugs. Now I just need to think of the glazes..
I'm working on a trio of these guys for my daughter's new 6th grade friends- they each "ordered" them a little differently (Lime- pointy ears/black eyes/smile, Hot Pink- no ears/blue glitter eyes/smile, Light Blue- cat ears, black eyes, a "rounded W" mouth, tail). I should have the pink one done tomorrow, and blue one before break starts next Thursday. I'm so happy she was able to find these sweet girls in this mess of a year- her elementary doesn't feed into this school and she barely knew a soul in August. They're really having a lot of fun together, and they're such good influences on one another.
She gave the first one her lime green one this morning and she wrote to me:
It’s beautiful, I love it, I’m going to keep it with me wherever I go, thank you.
12yo girls can be so freaking adorable.
@iceblink , I don't think I've ever seen another potter on any of these boards- how cool! I haven't had a lot of time this year to "get muddy", but I've been slowly building up a kiln load here and there. Nice big bellies on your mugs! <3
ETA: 2 and 3 finished and given to 2 more girls. These are so tiny (knit on 0's), the bells around their necks are about the size of a chocolate chip. It was fun, but I am taking a break from the sock needles until after the holidays.
Finally finished these guys. One for each kid and one for DH and I. Kits were Mill Hill Snowmen with charms. Cross stitch on heavy punched paper, and I backed them with fabric. They were fun and easy to work on, but I’m ready for something else.

Nice! My H got me a try it class for Mother’s Day earlier in the year and then I decided to sign up for a weekly course. I’ve been doing it for about 6/7 months now and I love it! Recently got myself a wheel and set up in the garage.
Hats for my nieces; shirts for me, my two older nieces and my daughter; and shirts for my husband, daughter and son! Glad these are done and hopefully the gifts for my nieces will be in the mail tonight!
