Should we put a towel bar in the back of our shower? Or a hook maybe? We'd probably use it to hang wash cloths, maaaaybe a towerl for after the shower, or maybe a wet item you want to put in your shower.
ETA: We do have a hand shower w/a vertical bar, so we could hang wash clothes there.
Are you building in a nook or shelf or something for shampoo bottles, etc.? I ask because we use our towel bar for this shower caddy thing. I've used this type of caddy for yeeeears.
We had a towel bar in the shower in our old house pre-bath reno, and we never really used it. I haven't missed it at all. Nooks/shelves are all I need.

We’ve got a hidden niche and an edge where you can set bottles and things.
I feel like I would hang something up to dry and forget about it. The next time I go to shower, I'd reach in to turn on the spray and see a freshly re-wetted item when I pull back the curtain to get in. Although this might not be an issue if you have a glass shower.
I put up a few hooks. I feel like they're less "permanent" than a shower bar, if you get the sticky ones. I originally planned on putting a towel in there for after the shower, but now I just throw a towel over the glass (I chose a frame much to the chagrin of our salesman). I do think I'll utilize them in the summer for drying out our swimsuits though.
I use mine lots, but I have a pool in my community and swim several times a week. I hang my wet swim suit there until it is dry enough to throw in the waash or use again.

We have a separate shower and tub, and we have towel bars on both sides of the tub (that has never been used) so if we have to hang wet stuff, we hang it there. I prefer a hook for a towel right outside the shower to inside the shower (even if it's in a space that should never get sprayed, I managed to spray it).
