Hope I’m not stepping on any toes by posting this but I noticed in the 2022 goals thread a few people said they would be interested in a weekly check in. It’s my first time doing one of these so I apologize if I left anything out! Feel free to add anything you’d like.
What are you training for? What’s your training plan this week? What has been a H&F high this week? What has been a H&F low?
BQ: What is your favorite time of day to work out?
My weeks look really similar from now to Daylight Saving Time. I miss DST! All workouts done withing my cardiac restrictionis
What are you training for? Nothing, maybe open heart surgery TBD What’s your training plan this week? Sunday: 26 mile road ride Monday: yoga Tuesday & Wed.: Trainer rides Thursday: horseback riding lesson Friday: Off Sat.: TBD Ride
What has been a H&F high this week? It's a regular week. What has been a H&F low? Uncertainty regarding surgery.
BQ: What is your favorite time of day to work out? Mornings on the weekends and evenings during the week after work. I have no choice during the week.

What are you training for?
Still technically in base building for the LI half on 5/1.
What’s your training plan this week? I roughly follow the hardCore calendar for strength.
Monday: core and lower body strength Tuesday: 30 minute run - but subbed 45 minute peloton ride since it’s 20 degrees out, core and upper body strength Wednesday: recovery ride, full body strength Thursday: 30 minute run 🤞 🤞 🤞 , Pilates and core Friday: rest Saturday/Sunday depending on weather: Peloton ride, 45 minute run, upper body strength, lower body strength, core
What has been a H&F high this week? 45 minute Peloton ride. I love the peloton. I don’t love being on it for 45 minutes. But I need to work on my mental game and I’ve done two 45 minutes rides this week. I’m proud of that.
What has been a H&F low? Not being able to run. I’m not comfortable going to the gym until Omricon dies down and the weather (and ice!) has not been conducive to allowing me to run outside.
BQ: kind of by accident I’ve discovered I’ve learned working out at about 9:15 after I drop my kids at preschool.
What are you training for? base building for local half, 4/24 What’s your training plan this week?
M: 3+ miles intervals T: 3 miles hills W: 3-4 miles T: rest F: 5-6 miles S&S: away for weekend, TBD (potentially nothing)
What has been a H&F high this week? I'm really enjoying the guided runs on my new treadmill (iFit/Nordic Track). It pushes me to do things I don't normally do outside (speed intervals, inclines, etc).
What has been a H&F low? Its too icy to run outside. I slipped and broke my leg on the ice 12 years ago and I'm still so paranoid anytime there is even a little ice on the sidewalks
BQ: What is your favorite time of day to work out? for long runs, morning. shorter runs, lunch time. I don't run in the evening - I don't have the motivation and I find my energy levels are too low.

Thanks for starting this!
What are you training for?
I’m signed up for a half marathon in late March, the Cherry Blossom 10 miler in April, and a local 10k in April.
What’s your training plan this week?
M: Easy 7 miles with strides T: WU, 4 mile tempo, CD, full body strength W: rest/active recovery Th: 6-8 miles with some hills, lower body strength F: recovery run or peloton class Sat: 13 mile run Sun: Peloton, upper body strength
What has been a H&F high this week? There’s a road here that’s been closed to cars during the pandemic so people can run and cycle on it. It goes through a park area, and it’s beautiful. And they plow part of it when it snows. I ran on it several times recently, because it’s one of the few relatively flat places that’s been free of ice. They’re supposed to open it back up to cars at some point, and I’ll be very sad when that happens.
What has been a H&F low? It snowed twice last week, the trails are still icy, and it’s brutally cold. And it doesn’t look like it’s warming up any time soon.
BQ: I usually work out early in the morning, because it works best with my schedule. I prefer to wait until the sun is up.

What are you training for? Base building for an April half.
What’s your training plan this week?
Mon: rest Tues: 4 miles with intervals Wed: 30 minutes cross train Thurs: 4 miles Fri: rest Sat: 5 miles Sun: 4 miles
What has been a H&F high this week? I’m starting back with my coach and training plan this week fete taking a month off. I feel SO GOOD after a month of running/working out with no schedule and only doing what I felt like.
What has been a H&F low? N/a
BQ: What is your favorite time of day to work out? During the week, I’m a mid-day workout fan. One benefit of wfh is I can run over my lunch hour which is perfect for me. On weekends, I’m more of a late morning. Except during summer marathon training then I’ll set an alarm on my weekend long run day to get my run done before the heat kills me.
What are you training for? Next on the agenda is some trail running! 10k in February and a trail ragnar in at the end of april. then on to tri season.
What’s your training plan this week? digging out of post covid/post holiday slump and getting back into routine - M- REST t -yoga/stretch W- ran 4.5 (was meant to be 5, cut it a bit short because I was STRUGGLING) Th - maybe more yoga? also reaaaaaaaaaaaaally ought to get on the bike trainer. F - run 5 Sa - uhhh, not sure. maybe nothing. Su - Run 7-8
What has been a H&F high this week? - getting back out with my usual run crew. It's been nearly a month! What has been a H&F low? - it's fuckign cold out
BQ: What is your favorite time of day to work out? - predawn. 5:00 or 5:30 AM is my default. it's a love hate relationship but at this point working out at any other time of day feels weird.
eta: and yay for this post! I'd forgotten about this as a regular one and missed it.
They’re supposed to open it back up to cars at some point, and I’ll be very sad when that happens.
FIGHT THE POWER! i strongly recommend lending your voice to calls to keep it for non-car use only. They're out there. Write emails, watch for public comment opportunities.

It’s federal land, and there’s been a public comment process already. I think they’re considering comments now. The local jurisdictions and various local organizations support keeping it closed, but I just can’t believe the feds will agree to it. There are people who oppose it because they want their commuting road back, even though there are alternatives. I hope to be pleasantly surprised!
