So...what was supposed to be done in december and you're just finishing now? Oh, is that just me?
I wrapped up this baby blanket, need to take some better pictures but the color grew on me once I finished it. (see december projects post for my previous griping) I do still wish I'd changed the order, but I don't hate it and I don't feel the urge to include an apology for it being ugly when I get this thing in the mail.
I did manage to LOSE a ball of yarn though, of course for the last color, so I had to quickly order another one. While I was waiting I used the scraps from all the other colors to make a little unicorn amigurumi and I think it's just the cutest little raggedy little unicorn friend. Intention is the blanket is for the baby and the unicorn is for big sister (she's 3)

I finished my MIL’s jacket! It is the Deer and Doe Opium pattern made up in a wool-faced soft shell. It looks a bit lumpy here because it doesn’t fit me, and also was folded up in a bag but this post reminded me to grab a photo before I bring it to her. The pockets are super cool but it was a lot of effort and the fabric was an actual nightmare to work with. I started it last winter so I am quite thrilled to have it out of the sewing room. It has an excellent swing shape which is very much her style and I’m excited that she will have a custom fit spring fall jacket. She struggles to find things she likes in her size and style. It is perfectly her. (Think sleek black bobbed hair, bright red lips, massive red frame glasses, black leggings at all times under flowy tunics and red Fluevog shoes).
So far I have only made random shapes that turn out however. This is the first time I’ve tried to intentionally make the same item. I’m happy with them, now I just have to hope the glaze all works out!
Ummm...right now I have four projects cut out (a bomber jacket for DD, pj/jogger pants for DD and DS, and a sweatshirt for me). I have a dress in progress for me that I've just put aside in frustration bc the next step makes no sense to me. And a new (free) dress pattern was just released (LLK Laurel) and I'm super inspired to make one for DD...
Oh, and I want to get some valentines fat quarters and do a few in the hoop gnomes.

cereal K as soon as I can go to the office and run off an A0 of the Laurel I will be doing that for DD.
In the meantime I’m making a one shoulder backpack for myself in winter fabrics since I am still wearing the summery floral one that I made myself in the spring.
I hear you on needing more hours in the day. So much. It’s done! The pattern is the Sandhill Sling from Noodlehead. shop.noodle-head.com/products/sandhill-sling-pdf-pattern I love her patterns. This one was finicky since it is smaller but the end result has been great both times I’ve made it. This time was much faster.
aprilsails, soooo, I made a Laurel for DD this weekend and LOFL...First, I am reminded not to try new patterns with fabric that has no defined front/back. Second, I must not have been paying attention, because I did the *simple* skirt completely wrong. Instead of sewing the two panels together horizontally, I put them together vertically (which, I swear the picture implies it should be done this way), so I have a midi-length, less gathered skirt. In the purple/olive tie dye I used it's a whole 90's vibe for sure!

Basically, don't do what I did! Ha!!
Oh no! I bet it still looks fun! I am swamped with actual work and my office is closed due to Covid19 so it will be a while until I get around to it. I have some funky jersey fabric for DD that I hope will turn out.
