I have a REALLY old basic garmin. H got it for my birthday 7.5 years ago. My Apple Watch kept shutting off my outdoor runs if I got a text or a call (which I would ignore) while I was out running. I feel like the peloton app over estimates my distance run so I pulled it out. I used it for a track workout Thursday and it seemed fine. Today I went out with the garmin and I think it was pretty off. It said I ran 2 miles which fine, but then it said mile 1 was about 4 minutes slower than mile 2 and that’s just not possible. I walked up a giant hill during mile 2. There’s no way I was 4 minutes faster. The peloton app tracked the distance as 2.63 miles. I then got home and tracked it using a mapping tool so not the most precise but got 2.44 miles. FWIW 2.44 seems most in line with my normal paces.
So I definitely think my Garmin was off by quite a lot. Has this happened to anyone? Is it just a factor of it being very old? Any other thoughts or solutions that don’t involve me buying yet another watch?

Yes, something like this happened with my Garmin Fenix 5s last year. I contacted customer support and they looked at my account and previous runs, and asked a bunch of questions. They made some suggestions that didn't help much, so I ended up buying a replacement refurbished model at a discount.
