Trying this again as we are still debating. Helping my parents plan their condo.
White perimeter cabinets, white quartz & backsplash, with wood floor and brown island. Door handles are all brushed nickel if that matters--not a lot of choice. Appliances are stainless.
Fireplace is a creamy white stone with subtle gold/copper veining and it's open to the kitchen, so we're kind of thinking of it as one big space. Wall color probably accessible beige. Everything is much more creamy/brown/warm than gray.
Lights over dining and island are "aged brass", which I keep referring to as "gold". Like the brushed dull brass color that's trendy now.
Mom still can't decide on cabinet hardware and faucet. Polished nickel was suggested due to the warm undertones; could be more "classic" than going all brass/gold, but still pair well with the gold lights and add warmth. I am leaning this way but not sure if it's a mistake. Would you do faucet & pulls in polished nickel? Or do everything brass/gold tone to actually "match" the lights?? Or other?
She could change entirely and just go chrome faucet/brushed nickel silvery pulls, but then you lose the warmth and the chance to make a really nice connection to the fireplace, so I personally feel like that's not a good path. I think it needs the warmth to jazz up the white and make it feel cozy. But tell me if you think I'm wrong.
FYI, also, the island & adjacent mudroom cabinet area is brown and the gold/brass color pulls don't look fantastic on brown (they do look cool in a sort-of midcentury way but that's not really the goal here)...but it's do-able if the polished nickel isn't a good plan.

I really like the idea of a dark bronze or brass with the colors you are describing. I’d lean towards brass if you can match the light fixture. Since you have a mix, nickel would be fine, too, and is easier to match later if you have to change anything out. Just beware that with anything polished like nickel or chrome, they may show scratches, water spots or hand prints more. They style will impact that as well. I think choosing the best, cohesive pull style is more important than the finish when you are between a couple choices you have in the house already. Metallics are considered neutrals.
I would do polished nickel. I think it will look great with the aged brass fixtures. Mixed metals is a great look and much more interesting than everything being matchy matchy. Good luck! Share pics!
