And who wouldn't want to sit at that desk for a nice relaxing spot of work with the giant television dangling precariously over your head? What's in those top cubbies that the rail is needed to keep them back -- ghosts?
I hear ya re boredom. We’re a little stir crazy here too.
OMG, seriously. I feel like Alexa is going to call the authorities because I've made like 15 random boredom-induced purchases in the past few days. I've ordered:
- Wool dryer balls - An apothecary jar to put the wool dryer balls in - A bigger apothecary jar because the first one was too small - A penguin you fill with baking soda to deodorize your fridge - A spatula specifically for flipping pancakes - Special teaspoons for my coffee and sugar canisters - That doggie doormat someone just told me about in the other thread
Not to mention a new winter coat, that vinyl flat, and like two different ruggable rugs. Someone needs to take away my internet.

My grandparents had built in kitchen cabinets with those rails on them. My cousin and I used to call them “sailboat chic” since it was such a common treatment on shelving in boats where, you know, you need it.
I’m trying to imagine how this all went down. Like, yeah, let’s put the firebox off center, it’s so “in” right now. But what about my National Geographic’s, where can I display those? Of course! Under the random cabinet. But if you get to display your Nat Geo’s, I want to display my clowns - okay, here are some shelves with a rail so they don’t fall off during an earthquake. Let’s not forget the desk for homework and the tv for entertainment. You don’t think it’s a little much? Nah. As a matter of fact, let’s add a Victorian inspired mantle for good measure. And…done.

Not to mention, where is the t.v. pointed? That's pretty clearly a solid wall. Unless it's on an arm that pulls it all the way out and forward.
It gets funnier/sadder the longer I look at it. The track lighting, pointed right at it. Someone was like, "Let's HIGHLIGHT this masterpiece with spot lighting!"
