Training for Ragnar Trail end of april, and then rolling into Tri Season.
M - rest T - stress the heck out over work? oh, that's not a workout? tell my jaw. (actually planning on a yoga video in a bit because I'm LOSING MY MIND) w - run 5 Th - bike F - Run 5 Sa/Su - visiting my mom for our very belated holiday fun. will hopefully get out for a run, will definitely do lots of walking, might get on a bike for a minute, but probably not.
High - got back to my usual Friday run date with my BRF's after a long covid and holiday induced break and it was such a great feeling. Low - My forearms were sore for two days after moving a TV. My upper body strength is just nothing. I have noodles for arms. It was a damn heavy TV though - old school tube TV I'd had for a long long time. FINALLY OUT OF MY HOUSE.
bonus - I'd rather be crocheting right now. I'm hoping to take another bike trip this year, but we can't settle on a location. I have no idea how to say no to races when one of my training buddies suggests them. I have to use MH as the bad guy and take it to him so he can tell me when I'm being ridciulous because otherwise I'd schedule myself for a race every other week.
What are you training for? Still nothing. I'll be under heavy cardiac restrictions for the long haul. What’s your training plan this week? Sunday: Trainer (raining) Monday: Trainer (35 degrees and wind gusts to 35 mph ugh) Tuesday: Horseback riding lesson Wed.: Trainer Thursday: Off Friday: Off What has been a H&F high this week? I had a great horseback riding lesson tonight. You would be surprised at the muscles you use. We are changing my position a little bit, and it's really working my gluts. They aren't used to that type of leg movement.
What has been a H&F low? This weekend's weather: 1"+ rain, then sleet, then snow, then wind. In 48 hours. I want to ride outside!
BQ: My nickname comes from the American Saddlebred horse. I've been riding horses a lot longer than bikes and just got back into training a few months ago. I only wish I had $$ to show!

What are you training for? Late march 10k, late April half
Mon: crosstrain - 45 min on elliptical Tues: 4.5 miles with intervals We’d: rest or 5 miles Thurs: rest or 5 miles (Can’t decide which day to run, my work schedule is crazy both days) Fri: rest Sat: 6 mile run Sun: 4 mile run
High: the weather is perfect and I’m hitting my interval paces consistently Low: my regular runs are boring me. I need to find something different to listen to or somewhere new to run. This is usually not a problem, but for some reason these days it is.
BQ: i love running races, but training to get to the race feels like a slog most days. It is SO MUCH easier now that I wfh and can run mid-day. Even if it means I have to start work a little earlier to get my full 8 hours in, it’s been so good for me to be able to run mid-day instead of at 5am.

What are you training for?
Half marathon in March, and a 10 miler and 10k in April
What’s your training plan this week?
M: Easy run with strides Tu: Progression run finishing at goal half marathon pace, full body strength W: Walk Th: I’m supposed to run hills, but it’s TBD because it’s supposed to snow tomorrow morning. Hopefully I can find somewhere to run by mid-late morning. F: Easy recovery run or peloton class Saturday: 14 mile run Sunday: Peloton and strength
What has been a H&F high this week?
It’s been cold and snowy here. I’m just happy I’ve been able to find places to get out and run (safely).
What has been a H&F low?
See above - it’s cold and snowy, and more cold and snow are coming. The last two winters were very mild, so this has been a shock to my system.
BQ: Tell us a little bit about yourself! Whatever you feel comfortable sharing.
I’m taking a beginning Spanish class, because I’ve always wanted to learn some Spanish. However, I’m terrible about studying for it. I’m so out of practice with studying and school.
M: off T: 2 miles (sprint) W: 3.5 miles (hill intervals) T: 3 miles F: off S: 7-8 miles S: skiing
What has been a H&F high this week? Definitely feeling stronger since I've started incorporating my new treadmills interval and speed workouts
What has been a H&F low? my Covid pounds aren't budging even with my ramped mileage and intensity. Maybe its less covid and more being 40? In any case, its a downer.
BQ: Tell us a little bit about yourself! Whatever you feel comfortable sharing. I'm really surprised how much i'm enjoying my new treadmill and the iFit workouts. I normally hate the treadmill, but the app helps a lot. I'm so so sick of the 3-4 mile loops near home and its been a nice way to mix it up.
What are you training for? tentatively a half marathon in early April
What’s your training plan this week? eh...good question. I need to sort that out Planning on a longer run on Saturday (7ish miles) otherwise no clue.
What has been a H&F high this week? I've been better about making sure I drink plenty of water.
What has been a H&F low? I was home with the kids a lot so that meant a whole lot of sitting on my butt eating anything I wanted. Which was great at the time but I'm feeling all those air fryer cheese sticks now!
