Our house has a lot of cool features, but when we were house hunting we kept referring to it as the house with the red bathroom, or to this bathroom as simply "murder bathroom." We knew a full reno was not in the cards for a while, but I for some reason loved this weird room and wanted to lean into the weirdness. This functions as our kids bathroom and guest bath. We'll eventually renovate it and steal some space from a storage closet to improve layout and add a shower. But that won't be for many years. This change makes it much more fun and much more us.
I still need to order art and a frame for beside the window. And want to add some plants and maybe a few other decorative items.

Love it! Have you seen that bathmat that reacts to water and turns red? That's the first thing I thought of when you said you were leaning into the weirdness of the "murder bathroom"! Not quite kid-appropriate, though. ;-)

When I saw the before and thought you were asking for suggestions, I was going to say some bold print wallpaper and dark color walls. So you clearly did the right thing! Looks good!

The wallpaper is fabulous - totally transforms it! Plants would be a great addition: Looks like you have the space, and they would thrive in the light and humidity.
That inspires me to lean into the green tile in our hall/kid bathroom.
Our upstairs bathroom is mont green and I love it.
We are leaning into our whole 1950's house. We are renovating the basement bathroom and are going to put weird color tile down there too. It cracks me up on the daily, and we aren't selling for long enough that whatever we do will be out of style, so bright colors it is!
I love the murder bathroom. It looks amazing. I don't know if I'd ever change it!
