Friday: Off Saturday: 75 minute trainer ride-windchills were in the single digits. Too cold for me to ride outside! Sunday: 2 hour freezing cold road ride
BQ: "Church cake" - Yellow Cake with chocolate butter cream icing. The best cake I've had in so long and freshest every from a bakery. It was baked only a few hours before I bought it. (Also, don't get me started on how good the sweet potato pie tastes.) A Black woman owned bakery opened with a specialty of cakes using her Granny's recipes. I got to meet her mom (daugher of Granny) and talk to her a bit about the new bakery. Church cake has a special meaning within many Black communities from what I was told. If you are anywhere near Atlanta, My Grannys Cakes on Cumberland Parkway is a must.
F- I wanted to do 6 miles but I was a dumbass and opened my work email as soon as I woke up... and the 6 miles never happened. S- Stayed inside all day! There was a blizzard S- Took a 1 mile snowy walk!
Impressive! Things are still a hot mess in Somerville/Cambridge. Our 1 mile walk to daycare this morning was a nightmare - even the bike path wasn't passable with a stroller.

I ran in the streets, mostly 😬. Slow and steady and maneuvering unplowed sidewalks and lumpy snow terrain. My knees definitely felt the workout. But glad I was able to do it since I missed last weeks run due to covid recovery.
I actually like running in the snow. It’s so pretty and hardly anyone is out. If the wind wasn’t so crazy, I would have gone out on Saturday. Running along the Charles in the snow is gorgeous. My fav winter runs.
H and I just got back from a trip to Sedona, so my workouts were hikes!
Fri: Hiked Cathedral Rock and another trail in town Sat: Devils Bridge, Fay Canyon and Soldiers pass. I had almost 30k steps. Sun: Grand Canyon South Rim. 6 mile hike to Skeleton Point. If anyone is familiar, wow. This was straight cardio climbing for 3 miles.
BQ: We didn't do any fancy dinners, but had some really good wood fired pizza and burgers at a cute brewery in Flagstaff.
