BQ: This is a two parter. What the days are starting to get just a bit longer. Can you move your workouts outside now if you've been indoors? What awesome thing did you do this weekend, anything, not necessarily H&F related.
Note: All activities within my cardiac restrictions. Time restrictions have been lifted. Yeah!
Friday: Off Saturday: 25 mile chill gravel ride-chill in pace and temperature Sunday: 3 hour road ride. Still cold
BQ: Sort of. It has to be about 55 when I start to ride outside or the temp drops too fast as the sun starts to set on the rail trail I do my rides on this time of year. Some weeks I can get out once, but I'm still mostly on the trainer during the week. Awesome thing: I did my first 3 hour ride since probably Aug. or Sept.! My time restrictions were lifted by Dr. Sports Cardiologist (Dr. SC).
Friday- Nothing. We had a bad ice storm. Saturday- ran 1.25 miles then went to the gym and did the elliptical and stair climber Sunday- Needed a 6-mile run but had very tight and painful calves. Walked 1.2 instead.
BQ- It is still winter here! Snow, ice, and low temps. I do as much as I can outside, but the longer days don't make much of a difference yet.
Fri - nothing Sat - swam 112 laps Sun - gym bike for 45 mins
The light might help for later runs but our evenings are so booked up that will be tough. And I usually like to work out earlier in the day so I only have to shower once.
Awesome thing - Super last minute, we hosted a Winter Olympics party yesterday masked in our garage/driveway. It was much smaller than the summer one but we still had 20 people. I pulled out the curling boards from four years ago, there was the little luge track for matchbox cars and figurine ice skating on a frozen tray of water, Olympic ring art, I had the flag and torch, Olympic tattoos, and all the stuff I had saved from the last three Olympic parties. I got fortune cookies and candy with gold, silver, and bronze wrappers. We had sushi and chips and dip, and blue, black, red, yellow, and green fruit in circular bowls to look like the rings. My husband made a big thing of hot chocolate in the crockpot, which might have been the biggest hit on a cold day. It was fun and I hardly did any planning, especially since I sent the evite out on Monday and on Thursday had to switch the day. But you only live once and I’m glad we pulled it off.

Fri: Rest Sat: 30 min peloton Sun: 45 minute run
BQ: For me, it’s not the length of the days it’s the temperature and the ice. We’ve had a number of piddly storms this year that have left the roads just icy enough. We went to a local college gymnastics meet Friday night that was fun!

Oh fun!!! I had texts from friends all week asking if we were doing one since we also did one this summer. But I just wasn’t interested in doing it in the cold! Sounds like you guys had a blast! The Paris games coincide with my 40th birthday so I’m determined to go but that means no party then either!

Fri: walk 5 miles Sat: run 7 miles Sun: run 4.5 miles
BQ: it’s usually warm year round where I live, but this weekend was COLD (like 29° cold). So it’s usually fairly easy for me to run outside. But I don’t run outside when it’s raining if I can avoid it, so it’s usually rain or heat that force me inside. Well, and sometimes time - I don’t always have the time to get to my running trail, especially if I run mid-day during the week. So then I’ll hop on my treadmill.
Fun weekend thing: I met a new friend for drinks tonight. We’re both new to the area and it was so much fun! I’m hoping to get together with her again soon!
Fri: 20 min run + strength + 20 min yoga Sat: 45 min Peloton cycle Sun: 60 min Peloton cycle + 30 min yoga
BQ: I haven't moved outside yet. Its been colder than usual; or it least it seems that way. The roads and paths are still icy, and since I have indoor options I haven't been running outside.
My weekends are dominated by my kids' sports mostly. DD's team took first in their tournament, as they usually do. Always fun to watch them play and have fun with their teammates.
