I'm not too good with decor, however have always been led in the right direction with you guys.
Our home contains a french country theme and currently I'm working on the master bedroom.
Our walls are similar to Behr's Purple Essence. Due to the walls containing the color, we would like to choose a light grey bedding with white sheets to neutralize the look - and to tie everything in we plan to add non-pattern throw pillows. We also like natural light when possible, so light window treatments will be added too.
I'm a little confused though with the difference is between a pattern bedding and a solid bedding - am I correct to assume a pattern will draw the eye in to where the pattern is?
My goal, if possible is to draw the eyes to the walls, and also allow our bed to be a soft inviting place to be at the end of the long day.
Hmmm. Not an expert, but I would rather my room not be totally plain. I think you need some kind of more interesting element. If you have plain walls, solid bedding, and solid throw pillows, it seems too bland.

Your bed duvet is a lot of "real estate" that I think you want at least some really nice texture if not pattern. I can see doing a solid color if you had plans for a lot of pattern in the room otherwise (wallpaper, curtains, accent pillows) but I'm not really getting that sense? In short, I would do a pattern and maybe something even a little bolder than what you've shown.

Our home does have bold colors and patterns but only in the common room...the bedrooms I tend to stick with pastels with minimal patterns.
If we were to do a soft grey with white fitted sheets - then I would add throw pillows of different textures (stones, satin...) that have tones of lavendar to tie in the wall color to the bed.
I like both of the cited patterns. Both patterns are soft grey on white backgrounds. With these soft colors, it should be very restful. If the monitor is showing the true colors, then either would work well in your room. Adding texture through throw pillows would be lovely as well.
I like the bird one better with more of the white background and gray pattern vs the gray background with white pattern. Our walls are a taupe with purple undertones and too much light gray/taupe made it really bland and dull. I think the pattern would give it a subtle interest without being too overbearing or taking away from the wall color. I also found that light gray can look really dreary with purples so if you do go with a solid find a crisp light gray.
I agree with others that pattern is the way to go. Both of your options are lovely and subtle and very pretty. I love the whimsy of the birds, especially with the other elements you’ve described. The roses seem a bit more formal to me, but I really don’t think you can go wrong with either option. ETA I really love your wall color!
I was looking for something more colorful, but I considered several textured sets from that brand that were much more neutral.
Of the 2 you posted, I actually like the 2nd one more because I think since the pattern is more subtle, it would blend in and act like a solid unless you are up close.

I do my color/pattern in rooms with accessories. I would do a plain white/cream quilt (mine has a waffle texture) and then do pillows with a fun print.
One of the previous owners picked the color...they also placed beautiful crown molding too.
Does anyone know what this style is? I'm guessing a modern traditional style.
The kitchen is what sold the house for us, but when we moved we found a ton of issues...fans that had broken sockets, bleach(?) thrown all over the bathroom walls, the common floors had a film of dirt...I can go on. I just don't understand why the house was a wreck in some areas and other areas were well cared for.
Small pattern can read more like a solid, even floral or stripes, especially its monochromatic and pale gray or white. I definitely think you need some texture and pattern in a room, even if it is just a pillow, although it could be the bedding or curtains. There’s tons of great fabrics for texture. Velvety fabrics are popular and many have more texture than just the velvety-ness. The wall is going to read as a background unless you have contrast. So, having white trim will help. Artwork doesn’t need to be huge but something on a white background with a larger scale, like a close up of a watercolor flower, will draw the eye to the wall more than a tiny pattern bedding.
