The preliminary hearing for the shooter’s parents is going on. Fuck these piece of shit parents. They knew their son needed help and did absolutely nothing. Instead they bought him a gun. They are absolutely responsible for what their son did.

There are a lot of evil people in this world but that woman is pretty much at the top of the list right now. Her blind eye toward what was going on and lack of concern over the safety of anyone else's children is vile.

And I still can't figure out what their endgame was when they went on the run and left like $15 in his bank account. Were they going to just peace out on him completely if they could get across the border and never come back (despite only having a few thousand dollars)?

Yes. I’m not condoning what he did obviously but I almost feel bad for the kid. He was screaming for help and his parents ignored it at every turn.

Texts between Ethan and a friend state he asked to be taken to the doctor his parents laughed and told him to suck it up. It doesn’t say if this is in reference to his mental health or a physical illness but I’m starting to think these parents are more responsible for what happened then their son.

Bumping to update with the latest:

Shooter “was sentenced Friday to life in prison without the possibility of parole for murdering four Oxford High School students and injuring seven other people in a rampage he carried out with a gun that his parents had bought him as an early Christmas present.”

The parents’ trial is scheduled to start in January.
