Travel within Costa Rica

We are planning a trip to Costa Rica in April. We have booked a 5 night stay at a resort on the front end of our trip who will be picking us up from the airport. From the resort we are going to head to Monteverde for 3 days, about a 4 hour drive. Should we book a ride to Monteverde now or wait until we get to the resort and have the resort help us book? We’ll also need transportation from Monteverde to San Jose.

I am sure you could do either, but I would book in advance. When we went in 2018, I used the information from this blog a ton: mytanfeet.com/ I don't know if they are still active or not, but if they are, I actually booked the transportation they recommended and was able to get a discount through them. It was decent and reliable and IIRC reasonably priced. I was nervous to just book some random company so it was nice to go through the blog for a recommendation.

Thanks, I just put in a request. We’ve had horrible luck at home trying to get cars for 4 to the airport the last couple years so it would be nice to have transportation lined up.
