I was supposed to fly to CA for my brother's wedding in April 2020. I have an American Airlines flight credit that expires from this on March 31, 2022. (We did eventually fly out for his wedding this past October but we flew Southwest that time b/c of logistics, which is why I still have the credit). It is very unlikely that I can take a weekend trip somewhere in the next month, lol. We don't live near any major airports so traveling is a pain. Can some more seasoned travelers weigh in on what my options might be here? It's not likely they would extend the credit, right? Should I try calling anyway? Should I book a flight that I can't take and then cancel that one to extend the credit? Just not sure what to do here and I'd rather not waste hours on hold on the phone, but I will if need be. Thanks for any ideas

Yes I would call or message them via social media. I know for delta you don’t have to fly by the credit expiration, you just have to book the flight. It’s like a coupon so you just add the flight credit at the end of the transaction and it deducts the amount, so as long as the flight is paid for before the credit goes away from your account it’s fine.
babsbunny, that's what I wasn't sure of. I can certainly book something to be used after 3/31, I'm just not making it anywhere before 3/31. I'll check out that site, thanks.

Did you end up doing anything about this yet? I put a note in my phone to call expedia about my expiring AA flight credits for March 1, but I didn't put any more info. for myself, so I don't even know if they expire March 1, end of March, sometime in between or what. I'd guess mine expire end of March too though, but I just called expedia and I'm waiting for the 'on hold call back' to see if I can extend mine.
