I heard this on the radio this morning. This seems like hell on earth. Disney has too many crazy fans who will pay way too much to live here. Can you imagine the neighbor wars. Hard fucking pass

I super hate my SMIL because she’s a busybody Karen. She likes to make sure she reminds me that she doesn’t think my kids are her grandchildren because she’s just a “step”.
And wouldn’t you know it? Now that her son is married with a step kid, that step kid is her pride and joy grandchild and I get to hear all about him!

Patsy Baloney twat indeed. My Dad's Mom died the day after he was born. My Grandpa remarried when my Dad was 3 and Uncle was 7. I never knew Grandma was technically a step until I was 10 or 12, because she was Grandma.
krystee figure out an idea of what you want in the bathroom and possible layouts you like, then call contractor and go from there. They may have a designer they work with.
Tomorrow: Mexican grilled vegetable wraps using tortillas instead of bread because the veggies just slide out if you use bread. We're actually going out for sushi, so you could swap this for takeout.

It's canoodling an old timey word? It's it regularly understood.
I wanted to use it recently and could think of nothing much better. But I've not spoken to people where English is a first language for so long I second guess myself a lot.
I already did this in murca. My sister's friends thought I was a snot for my vocabulary (they were honors students in uni at the time). Even my super smart dad, with mix of pride and chastisement, told me he would look up words. What do you expect from a kid who reads more than plays? To this day I realize words I've only read are pronounced differently than I thought. Schism was most recent

I vote canoodling is old timey but most people would know what it meant. I largely see it in articles about celebrity dating so it’s out there.
I just finished a memoir and thought the author name seemed familiar. Then I read the acknowledgments and she thanks some friends of mine. They don’t live locally so I guess she is part of their friend group there? I wasn’t left with a good impression of her and now I am hoping I’ll never have to meet her face to face.
Memoirs are so awkward; I’ve reviewed a lot of them and if you don’t like them, unless it is some structural issue in the book, you are basically just saying you don’t like the author as a person. Which is probably true in a lot of cases. But still a little awkward.
We are planning to redo a bathroom this year and I have no idea what I’m doing. Pick everything out and then call a contractor? Call a contractor and have them help me design it? Price is important to me, so the latter option sounds dangerous! But I am very much not a designer or decorator.
I’m having to redo my main bathroom unexpectedly due to a shower pan leak and in my experience finding a remodeling company/contractor that doesn’t have an in-house design team was the most cost effective way to go. I chose a small family-owned company with fantastic reviews and recommendations and so far he’s been able to give a few suggestions after knowing which way I’m leaning design wise.
I know what I like and don’t like when I see it, but I have zero idea how to pull together an entire bathroom. Both of the tile stores I’ve visited (Floor&Decor, Tile Shop) have free design consultations and multiple mini bathroom displays in store. I’ve used both and they were extremely helpful in narrowing down my options after seeing examples of what I liked.

Google canoodling and news anchor. Hilarious on air blooper.
katiecj6, when I was a young teenager, maybe 13-14, my dad accidentally bought me a porn-light book. LOL!
We were on vacation and he had been browsing the books at the grocery store, and he decided to buy this collection of short stories because one of the authors was Stephen King, and he knew I'd been reading a lot of King's books. He had no clue, which was funny, because the title of the book was "Dark Love." Not all of the stories were sexual, but all of them were a little weird.
isabel, that cornbread looks delicious, and I've just signed my H up to try making it at some point in the future. He was like, "shouldn't I try and master regular, non-fancy cornbread first?" And I told him he'd be fine and to just dive right in.
Looking back on my meal list, between my H cooking, popping in a Costco meatloaf, my SIL cooking, and reheating leftovers, I haven't really cooked since the 7th. I'm going to continue that trend tonight by sending my H out for TBD takeout.
The weather has shifted from sunny and cool, to rainy, dreary and colder, and it's not helping my headache situation this afternoon. I think I'm going to scrap my usual heavy Saturday workout for yoga, a hot bath, and reading.

I’ve not actually tried it yet, so let me know how he does! Not cooking for multiple weeks sounds amazing! I highly encourage you to keep that up.

You'll be making it before we do, you'll have to let me know!
As long as the recipe is good, he'll do fine. He can cook and bake and has no trouble following a recipe. It's just that we went about 6 years where I did 90% of the cooking because I wasn't working, and now that we're both retired I'm working on shifting more of it back to him.
He did get excited when he saw it contained buttermilk. He was like, oh, get more wheat bran too and I'll make more bran muffins. LOL!
Ugh we are traveling to Florida to visit my dad. Flight was supposed to leave at 3. All looked fine and we were ready to go, on the plane - then they needed to de ice. 45 minutes later they finish but then inform is the parking brake is stuck. So then another hour or so of them trying to fix it and towing us back to the gate and we are back sitting in the airport I guess waiting for a new plane. It’s super crowded and the kids are starving so I’m stressed about them needing to take off masks and eat here. I missed travel a lot over the last few years but I also hate it lol
And I watched “Spencer” while sitting on the plane through all that. Did not enjoy.

I went to target yesterday with H and the baby. I scoped out the baby toys aisle and it was packed! So many cool toys. I really had to scrounge around to get him much of anything for Christmas. Not that he cared or cares, but david would’ve noticed.
We also put together his exersaucer thing. He’s too short for it right now so we got one of my textbooks for under his feet. He reminded me of when Sophia was borrowing the Golden Girls’ cars and sat on a phone book. That’s how they caught her 😂
Pibs, here is the chocolate chip cookie bar recipe (and anyone else that wants it). I really have no clue where it came from, so my apologies if it's a copy of someone's work.
1 cup butter or margarine 1 cup granulated sugar 1 tsp salt 1 tsp vanilla 2 1/4 cups flour 2 eggs 1 tsp baking soda 1/2 cup packed brown sugar 6 oz chocolate chips 6 oz white chocolate chips
Cream together butter, sugars, and vanilla until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs. In another bowl, sift together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to cream mixture. Mix until well blended. Fold in the chocolates. In a preheated oven, bake at 375 degrees for 15-25 minutes (maybe even 35 minutes... not sure if maybe my oven ran cold).
I just ate an entire red chili and oh my Lord I felt like I entered another dimension. It hurt unless I actually was drinking something until the waiter caught sight of me and brought me a glass of milk. It was very funny and very embarrassing. My ears even feel like they were affected.

Did you do that on purpose? I feel like a key piece of the story is missing.

It was in the dish but I don't think it was meant to be eaten. I was distracted and just accidently took a big bite of stuff. I like spicy food, but I have never had such an experience.
We ordered takeout from a new local pizza place tonight (no, we did not serve veggies, and the pizzeria didn’t even have salad on the menu). It was expensive, but REALLY good. The ingredients were really fresh and the crust was good. We’ve been extremely disappointed with all of the chain places lately, so it’s nice to know this place is good. Other than the price, the only downside is that they don’t deliver.
Still waiting in the airport - all people at the gate have reached peak insanity levels. Latest update is maybe we take off at 10;30. But the bigger issue is that the rental car place closes at midnight and there are no hotels with availability near the airport. So, I guess we sleep at the airport until the rental car place opens tomorrow morning? What a fucking mess.
devonpow how far is your destination? Can you get a Lyft and have one of you go back for a rental car tomorrow? Sleeping in the airport sounds miserable, so I hope it doesn’t come to that!

45 minutes. It’s my dad’s house but I don’t want him to get up and drive that far in the middle of the night like that! This whole thing is a mess, I wish they would just let us re book for tomorrow at this point.

Lol! I was 14 when I read a "romance" book that my mom brought on vacation. I think I would be less scandalized by those books. At least there's a story involved.
