We are going the week of Thanksgiving. I still can't quite believe I agreed to this.
I'm trying to manage my expectations by just going with the flow, only targeting a few rides at each park (more will just be a bonus), and focusing on atmosphere.
We want to do some non-park things, too, like go see the Grand Floridian's gingerbread house. We got to see it under construction on a previous trip! Any other fun, non-park holiday things to go check out?
Also, is there a place that is particularly good for a Thanksgiving meal or should we just blow that off and keep on with regular park fun?
ETA: We will have Genie+ and are willing to pay for the paid Lightning Lane rides, I just have to actually look at the details of how to do that.
Thanksgiving is really not too bad. It's our favorite time to go! You see all the holiday decorations and while it's crowded it's not Christmas time insane. It's pretty much tradition now for us and we will be there that week as well.
We like to eat non traditional places for Thanksgiving dinner. Last year we did Tiffins and it was really good! We have also done Sanna. I do recommend leaving the park...otherwise even with an ADR you will wait.
ETA: Make sure you book your Lightning Lane/Genie + right when you are first eligible (7 am if you are on site). They do go quick. It's super easy to stack stuff at MK. Evenings are not as busy as mornings.
