I posted a couple of months ago that my financial advisor passed away....I haven't found one that I like so I think my best bet is to roll over my ROTH into fidelity and either figure it out on my own or do one of their low fee advisors. I was just about ready to transfer from First Heartland Capital to Fidelity when I had a question.....how will fidelity know what portion of my ROTH is contributions and what part is earnings? Does that information transfer over or do I need to keep my old statements?
Fidelity is the easiest company we have found to work with doing rollovers. We just transferred 401k funds. If there are any of the same investments they will just move them to the same funds. If not, they will assist you with finding similar funds or something you at your comfort level.
I think technically you're supposed to keep track of your contributions. It does get reported when filling taxes. You can call and ask Fidelity if they will get that info on the transfer and track it for you.
