We are redoing our kitchen and are trying to decide between a Fisher & Paykel suite or a Thermador suite of appliances. Does anyone have experience with either of these brands?
We have a Thermador cooktop (lp, since we don't have natural gas here). It has really good simmer burners.
Our dish drawers are Fisher Paykel. We had them at our house in CA, and knew that we wanted them in this house.
Our fridge is Leibherr (integrated), and our oven is Bosch. Obviously, having a suite was less important to us than getting the features we wanted.
We didn't really trust that any one brand would make everything well and went for the ones within our budget that fit our needs and had solid ratings. Our local appliance store guy was a huge help with figuring out...he asked all the right questions to help him know what would be good for our needs and answered all of ours. He was very knowledgeable and had taken classes from the different manufacturers.

Do you like the dish drawers? This is one of the main reasons that my H is leaning towards Fisher & Paykel, but I just noticed that their refrigerators don’t have ice makers and the Thermador does.

We do. They really work well for us. We mostly use the top drawer, and I like that I don't have to bend over to load/unload. I like the way they look too...ours have integrated panels that match the cabinets.
I don't think we had them when we had kids at home, but the only difference with that would be running it more often. We are here 24/7, and manage to use a fair number of dishes for two people. We generally only run the top drawer every two or three days. The other one is mostly dog related (reusable freezer bags and plates), but with one dog now, it doesn't get run very frequently.
I don't have experience with either brand but am here to say that I would also consider buying best of breed rather than doing a whole suite. No one brand is the best at every appliance. We bought everything at once for our new build and went with a hodge podge: Samsung for fridge, induction stove, and washer/dryer; Bosch for dishwasher; GE for second wall oven; and I can't remember what the drawer microwave is now.
My old office had the fisher & paykel dish drawers in all of our break rooms and I love them! I wouldn’t worry about matching manufacturers. Just make sure the finish color matches and they each have the features and look you want. It’s more expensive but you can also get the dish drawers to be clad in a material to match the cabinets so it blends in and you only see the handle. You can buy refrigerators like that too.

Same. I read so many reviews so that we got the best that we could. A few things our kitchen supplier couldn't get so we ordered ourselves.
Fisher &Paykel doesn’t have many discounts, but Thermador does and seems to only make sense pricewise if you get the suite. Their refrigerator is about twice as much as Fisher & Paykel, but the whole suite is 2k less than Fisher & Paykel because they throw in a free dishwasher and range hood.

Yeah, I get that the packages deals are usually priced attractively. Just make sure the reviews for each appliance are good enough because there has to be a reason for the freebies, you know? Like I'm picky about range hoods and want something with real draw power and isn't super difficult to clean.

ETA- we like the fridge. Have had no problems at all with it. The ice maker is a bit slow but we rarely use ice. Like if you empty the bin it will take more than a day to fill completely. also agree I would not get all one brand for everything. Like others, literally every appliance in our kitchen is a different brand. GE cafe range, zephyr hood, Miele dishwasher, F&P fridge, I spent like 50 hours researching all this. I really wanted the sub zero fridge but couldn’t justify $11,000, but otherwise got the best mid range options.
Our fisher and Paykel fridge purchased 2 years ago has ice maker. It’s not in door, just in freezer. We do have indoor water though
We have thermador appliances- gas stove top, oven, microwave and dishwasher. Everything is great except the awful dishwasher. I think they were purchased circa 2014.
