We are installing new flooring. Our dining room will no longer have carpet (praise the lord) and we have a very large dining table. What does everyone put their table on? I’d prefer to have no carpet/rugs but I also don’t want the floor scratched. We put chair socks for the chair legs but I’m not sure what to do about the table?
I'd put some of those non-slip/gripper furniture pads under the table legs. Something to help keep it from scooting around. (Something like this in whatever size fits your table legs: smile.amazon.com/dp/B005XGOV7O)
What flooring are you installing? We have some glider feet that screw on to the chair legs our kitchen table's chairs, which I like a lot for ease of moving them... But I did notice they scratched the oak hardwood floors over time. (Like these, but different brand: smile.amazon.com/4Screw-Furniture-Glides-Sliders-Furniture-FURNIGEAR/dp/B07FH82D8J/)

I usually have stick-on felt pads on smaller stuff like chairs, but I don't get the sense a big dining table would move enough to worry about it? I'll admit the felt pads are hit-or-miss -- they often end up upside down and stuck to the floor which is pretty much defeating the purpose. For a dining table though I can't imagine they could get unstuck enough to flip.

The issue is the table doesn’t just have legs. Maybe I can find a picture but the bottom has a large rail that spans nearly the whole table. For lack of a better word almost like a very large |-| shape.
My dining room is a work in progress, but we have a 9x12 Ruggable under the table. I probably won't wash it often because it's a pain, but it's nice to know I can.
Before we had the rug, we had felt pads on the chairs, but nothing under the table legs. Our floors are cherry HW.
I have only lived in places with hardwood floors and I have never had a rug under my table. We just put adhesive furniture pads on the feet of the table.
I would guess you could just put a few pads every few inches along that rail as well?
Yeah I’ll stick with that or I was thinking of cutting like a felt rug pad or something.
I think we've gotten them at Costco in a pack, but we've had felt pads that are just a large sheet that you can cut to size. So you could cut strips out of that.
