For all the well known/ famous people I’ve seen in my life - we actually saw her twice. Once at a restaurant in DC where she was at the table next to us (which explained the black SUVs out front and the men in black!), then another time we were walking through a DC neighborhood and as we started to cross a street, she drove by!
These were both easily 15-20 years ago.
I hope her family is doing ok. She did have a life well lived.

She was always one of the highest-rated professors at Georgetown (she taught grad students) not only because she was so incredibly insightful but she LOVED engaging with and mentoring students, especially women. She went back to it after leaving the State Dept when she clearly didn’t “need” to.
