Teen logic is so flawed. This morning, I am driving the teen to school. He gets out and realizes he forgot his wallet at home. He needs it today so that he can show his ID with the off grounds sticker at the gate so I can pick him up at lunch and get him to school golf practice. It is a closed campus, so you need the sticker to leave. Same administrator is at the gate daily. Admin knows my teen and knows he leaves every Tuesday and Thursday at lunch for golf practice. I tell him I will bring it when I come to pick him up and hand it to him through the fence so that he can show admin his ID. He insists they won't let me do this, and can I bring it and pass it to him through the SAME FENCE at morning break. Um ... so they will let me pass you your wallet through the fence during morning break, but not at lunch? He didn't understand how this logic was flawed. I said, "It's not like I am passing you drugs through the fence!!"
Also, my "baby" turns 8 tomorrow and I am a little sad about him getting big.

DD said she wanted to sign up for Girls on the Run, which is an afterschool activity that trains girls to run a 5k. Now that I got the email that she is off the waitlist and in the program, I know she's going complain about it.
My daughter played the lead in her school production of Aladdin this past weekend. I'm still so impressed with how well she did. It was her first play (she was cast in fall of 2019, but they couldn't do it because of lock down so they decided to put it on this year) and I don't know how she doesn't get nervous before going on/singing in front of strangers. She's a great kid and I'm always proud of her, but it's so exciting to see this new facet of her personality and abilities.
I also learned how exhausting helping out backstage with 65 elementary school aged students is. I feel so old after this weekend. Lol!

In case you don't know, she's going to need a running buddy to do the final big 5k with her. So you have to start training too LOL
At least that's how it works at our school. Last year me and my exH had to run a 5k in the rain so that each of the girls had a buddy. I was not prepared.

Not always the case! I've volunteered with GOTR and run buddy is one of the roles you can volunteer as So don't have a heart attack if you're not a runner, eponinepontmercy! It's a great org, I hope your DD enjoys.

Oh man! They push HARD for each kid to bring their own buddy here. Or maybe my kids just know we're suckers and THEY pushed hard for it... haha

They do require a buddy for the 5k. I started running again a few months ago after a few years off, but I'm pretty slow and do run/walk intervals.
I'm happy to run it with her. I just hope that she doesn't get too much faster than I am. 😅😅

They probably don't have enough volunteers to run with every girl so they want to save them for girls who really can't find anyone. I was a running buddy a couple of times when a close friend was a GOTR coach! I think parents/volunteers could also probably swap if you are a slow runner and your kid is fast. I always ran with the really slow kids, lol.

My kid wants a pumpkin pie for her birthday instead of cake. I really don't want to make one so here's hoping one of the grocery stores near me sells them this time of year.

Is there a Marie Calendar’s or Coco’s or another bakery/diner near you that might make them year round?

I made one from scratch for Thanksgiving, and it was delicious, but the frozen Marie Callender's my mom buys every year is really just as good.

Pumpkin pie is super easy from scratch, I just don't want to do it. 😉
