Habbs - this took a good two hours with waiting around for everyone to show up and pictures.
Who gives a rats? I think you are/were being a brat about it. Its not like weddings arent a pain in the ass.
Wow. I didn't say anything to anyone at the time and all I said just now is that it was annoying. I don't really think that equals being a brat, but okay!

We live right down the street from Sonic, Chick-fil-a, 3 McDonald's, Jack in the Box, 2 Wendy's, Panda Express, Arby's, and Taco Bell. No wonder I'm fat!
I'm pretty sure I just ate the sticker on my apple.
Haha. That reminds me of this.
Mac: Did you eat the stickers that are all over it? Charlie: Yeah, it was gross. Mac: Of course it's gross, it's a sticker! Charlie: I eat stickers all the time, dude!

Mojo - this is my H's sister, I don't have any brothers. It absolutely has had an affect on his relationship with his sister though. They weren't close before all this, but now....Well. You can imagine.
No, really, like I said, I've had to let a lot of it go. I realized about a nine or ten months after the wedding that my response to any issue we had w/ either of our families was, "Yeah well at least my family never __________!" Anyways, that's just not fair, or productive. I don't expect him to cut his family out, so I kind of had to just learn to adjust my expectations about what role & importance they'd have in my life.

We have Taco Bell within .2 miles from our house McDonalds .5 miles Jack in the Box 1 mile Whataburger (mmm texas) .5 miles Schlotzky's .5 miles Subway .6 miles
We have three. THREE. Sonics in my 12000 person town. No wonder everyone here is overweight with their half priced skakes after eight and shit.
We have three too. One is like..half a mile away from the other? I love it.
I love them. I just think it's hilarious that our little population can float three of them. It is great though, "oh this one's busy? I'll just drive a minute down the road."
I am originally from Texas. When I tell people this, they ask me if I know where *random, small town* is. Uhm, no, I don't. Do people not know how big TX is???

No problem. I grew up on the border though, moved up here because my dad got a job at the AFB here. H moved to this area from California. We like it. SO MUCH MEXICAN FOOD ::dies::
We have a McDonald's and a Subway on the Island I live on and that is it. The city council passed a law 20 years ago that banned any fast food restaurant from leasing on the island. Papa Murphy's sued the city and won because the law was unconstitutional but they decided to not have a franchise here because of all that.
We don't have very much good fast food near us. McD's a mile away, Burger King 2 or 3 miles, and Panera. Which is generally ok, bc I watch what I eat. But, I really do like fast food, so when I want to splurge, I wish we had Sonic or Steak and Shake close by! I really really wanted a Frisco Melt with cheese fries tonight.

Lol. I know a lot of little small towns in this area. I know where practically everything is from Del Rio to Austin (I grew up in DRock)

Fuck, even if Texas was small, do you know how many random ass small towns there are in Texas??
Why yes you do.
Oh! Hilarious story. So Sunday morning, it's my habit to stop at the convenience store on the way to church for my coffee and Sunday paper. As I'm getting back into my car, a dude calls out to me.
"Hey, you're from texas?" (I live in GA but I still have TX plates thanks to internet registration renewal shhhh)
"Yup"
"Where in Texas?"
"Near Corpus Christi."
"Oh yeah? I have a buddy who lives in Corpus Christi. Are you sure you're from Texas?"
"I lived there more than seven years but I was born in New Jersey."
"I thought so because I've been to Texas plenty of times and I ain't never seen any girls as pretty as you."
Dude was like 60. I laughed my ass off and got back in the car lol.
Awww. I love old Texans. Seriously they make my day so much better. I could look like shit and some old guy would lift my spirits.
The other day at HEB, I was getting an RX for vicodin and I was in a lot of pain standing so this old guy grabbed a chair and tapped me on the shoulder and said "A pretty lady shouldn't have to stand. Go ahead and sit doll. I'll hold your place in front of me". I awwwwwwwwwwwwwww'd so hard.
How do people know where this place issssssss. Its so tiny
eta: everyone asks if I went to TLU here and I say no. Then they wonder why the fuck I drove to UTSA (54 miles one way).
I lived near Corpus Christi for 7+ years. You drive back and forth to San Antonio, Dallas, Austin and Houston often enough and you see road signs for lots of shit.
I want some fresh bread and their buy this, get the whole meal shit for free coupons. They used to do one where you had to buy ice cream and something like whipped cream and then you got bananas, strawberry topping, pecans, and something else for free.
Another maybe flameful. It baffles me how upset and emotional people get over things on here. I guess I'm cold hearted, I would never cry over the Sarah Mclachlan dog commercials. I guess I have to remember not everyone is like me lol.
But then I think I'm missing some kind of feminine gene. I don't cry often.
That romance thread made me feel like an asshole. I was in no danger of shedding tears.
And back to my hair, look, a fro is cute, it really is but I would have to wash that shit daily for it to be cute and uuuuuuuuuuuuggggggggh!
Is HEB the only grocery store in the San Antonio area? This is weird to me. We have a ton of grocery stores in Dallas.
It's the only one worth a shit in Corpus or at least it was 10 years ago. Unless you wanna go to walmart but we were only just beginning to get super walmarts when I first moved down there.
There was an IGA and an Albertsons but both closed while I was living there. Or at least the IGA did. I think Albertsons might have been kicking but I didn't know anyone who shopped there.
LGW, there is Whole Foods, Wal Mart and mom and pop grocery stores..no Kreugers (? Am i spelling it right?) Trader Joes or anything like that.
habs, one of my favorite cashiers at HEB got fired for being too friendly. He isn't right in the head and has worked there for 19 years. he ALWAYS found those coupons when I subconsciously got all the items for Combo Loco.
