Chris Rock also issued an apology to Jada and Will. I don’t have it, but it’s easily Googleable. Seems like, for once, both parties involved are owning their fuckups, are being grown about it, and hopefully that will help it go away quickly (lol, right).

Had he received his award yet at that point? If not, I can see them allowing him to stay so he could receive his award.

Honestly, if everyone who had ever done something objectionable at the Oscars was asked to leave the ceremony, nobody would be left….

Will Smith was NEVER asked to leave the Oscars after he slapped Chris Rock. In fact, the opposite is true -- he was told by the producer of the show he could stay ... this according to sources with direct knowledge who were present.
