welp, I ended up ordering fairly basic white subway tile! I have to laugh because from the very beginning I said that it was exactly what I did NOT want, but after looking at approximately one zillion tile choices, it ended up being my favorite and in the right price range. It has some variation in color and we are likely going to lay it out in a fairly non-traditional way, but it's really pretty and kind of peaceful. It looks perfect with the counters and cabinets, it's all in stock and will be in my house 2 weeks, so there's no turning back! And now I never want to have to think about backsplash tile again
***********************
after all that (pandce.proboards.com/thread/629535/kitchen-renovation-backsplash) this effing tile is now likely completely unavailable. When I placed the order it said it was backordered until late March, which was fine because I definitely didn't need it before then.
But I never got another update and since late March has come and gone, I contacted TileBar for an update today and they said that now it's actually a closeout item and IF it's available at all, it won't be until July, but they really have no idea. I get that things are crazy with supply chain whatever--but could they have told me?
I'm so pissed. So now it's back to the drawing board

I’m so sorry. Tile is hard. I had a patterned floor tile on order for our basement bathroom that I planned the entire bathroom around. I was told it would be no problem when I ordered it and it would arrive in time. I called 2 weeks before we needed it to check in and they said it was on the way. Then, our tile installer was scheduled to start in several days so I called again to make sure we were good and they said “we don’t know where it is or when it’s coming”. I couldn’t wait, not knowing if it would ever arrive.
So, 3 days before I actually needed tile, I was at every store desperately trying to find something similar. Lo and behold, I found patterned tile at Lowe’s that I liked a lot. I might even like it better than the original tile I had picked out. But it was stressful and I don’t want to do that again.
Perhaps you’ve checked there, but maybe look into Bedrosians. We used the Cloe White for our kitchen remodel and I really love it. It’s not the look you are going for, but maybe they have another option that could work.

That site keeps coming up in my searches! Definitely adding them to my list of places to search.
that's half of it--those 3D pieces are in stock! the plain, flat ones are the ones that are on closeout. isn't that weird?! but I need half of them to be the 3D pieces and the other half to be the plain, flat ones. for a second I looked around to see if i could find another 2.5x9 white tile, but there's no way the color, finish, and thickness would match the way it would from the same manufacturer

This is a plain white 3 x 9" tile by the same manufacturer (Ivy Hill Tile). I wonder if it's worth calling the manufacturer to figure out if this is a match?
dancingirl21 , I actually do really like the Chloe white! Thank you! I went ahead and ordered a sample
We love it. It’s got enough depth to look different and it’s a little bit shiny, which I really like.
Yes! The glossy finish is really pretty. I have pretty much only been looking at polished or glossy tiles because I want the light reflection to help brighten up the space.

ugh - so sorry!! that sucks.
we are looking at something similar to the Cloe White for our fireplace surround. not the same - but I researched and bookmarked a wine fridge 2 months ago - (need it in June). went to order last week and out of stock with no restock date
It has a coordinating piece that is plain and I think could work to make basically the same pattern that I wanted. Emser has a showroom about 30 minutes away from me so I'm going to go take a look one day this week.
The main thing I'm worried about is the color. It looks like it could be kind of an off white and I need more of a true white. Oh, and I also need to make sure it's something we can afford, but I've looked at other Emser tiles and the prices weren't crazy.

so... my interior designer just this morning sent me a mock up of our fireplace with tile from...…….. Bedrosians - it's the Cloe! (but in gray vs. white) - LOL.

That is a pretty tile, despite its simplicity. I think the color variations and texture will help it to feel a little less cookie-cutter vs traditional subway.
