It’s finally Friday! What have you been reading this week?
QOTW: Would you rather have a week at work of unusually slow and boring days or a week of unusually busy and fast-paced days? Assume it would return to normal after the week.
A couple of new releases this week: I finished Emily St. John Mandel’s new one, Sea of Tranquility, and just started The Candy House by Jennifer Egan.
QOTW: The question was inspired by my very slow and dull week that felt like it would never end, so I would definitely take the busy week. Slow days make me more tired; I’d much prefer to have productive days that move faster.
I finished Our American Friend by Anna Pitoniak last night. I liked the first half or so much more than the second. Once things started coming together it got a little farfetched.
QOTW: Slower please! Things are usually so hectic and I know that my busier weeks really wreak havoc on my quality of life.
I finished the latest Veronica Speedwell - An Impossible Imposter. I was disappointed with the last one but this one got me excited again! I also read Yearbook by Seth Rogen. Laugh out loud funny. Very enjoyable!
QOTW: N/A right now but when I used to work…probably busy to get the days/week over with.
I’ve got a few books going, 2 audio, 2 written. some of them are pretty heavy topic-wise (WWII historical fiction) so I can alternate as my mood suits. Bluebird The Forest of Vanishing Stars Under the Whispering Door Catching Fire
QOTW: fast. I’ve had a slow week this week after being busy. I get antsy and restless when I’m not busy, so I’d rather be busy (without too much overtime).

Been reading Perfectly Impossible by Elizabeth Topp and listening to Master of Djinn by P. Djèlí Clark which is really great.

This is very much my job, it's either nonstop putting out fires and getting things done, sending messages between us reminding each other to eat, or slow and quiet. I definitely prefer the latter, because there's never boredom.
