I don’t love the “Karen” branding but I don’t think a service is totally ridiculous.

There are definitely times I have left money out there because I couldn’t sit on the phone for hours to work out the refund or didn’t have the stamina to continue following up.

@dancinggirl21 just posted that she is having a bad time getting her money back from a hotel reservation that she cancelled. This seems like the perfect solution if you do t have the time to deal with it.

In my prior job I did not have access to a phone from 8 am until 4 pm unless I made special arrangements. I could never make a phone call and wait on hold.

It's almost like they willfully don't understand the term "Karen" means a white woman weaponizing race and privilege to target a BIPOC who is just living their life. And given their website, they clearly think the "Karen" references they see (of white women weaponizing racial privilege) are just women zealously advocating for what is right.

I apparently was wrong and thought the original "Karen" definition was a middle aged (white) woman who typically had a Kate Gosselin hair cut and complained to the manager for not accepting expired coupons. It seems like this company was going based off of picture.

I know more recently with the more serious and dangerous cases of weaponizing race such as in central park, bbq in a park, etc it has become something more important to not joke about.

In my head there was almost like a Karen spectrum.

I know folks who had parents die without a will in place or any information about account numbers.They had to spend hours/ days on hold with customer service representatives at various banks. I could see this service being very useful in that situation.

This is the key issue. Lack of a will doesn't matter as much as lack of information on the assets. If you plan to bequeath your property by will in the same manner as the intestate statute, a will doesn't really change much (if you have no minor children and the same person would act as administrator/executor, etc). Either way, the court will be appointing someone to oversee the transfer of assets.

What makes all the difference for your executor/administrator is a full list of assets, with all the account information. Dying intestate with good paper accounting records is much better for your heirs than a will and all your account information online.

Yes, I can definitely see situations where it would be helpful to hire an advocate to deal with things on my behalf. I would LOVE to have someone else wait on hold with hospital billing for me and be more assertive than I'm naturally inclined to be. But the "Karen" branding is off-putting because whether it's Kate Gosselin or Permit Patty or anywhere else on the entitled white lady spectrum, I don't want any part of that.

As an aside - do people in your area actually get haircuts like that (or did they in the past decade or so)?

The entitled white women in my world would never be caught dead in that style. Long, styled hair only. Short hair shows up occasionally among the older Girl Scout leader/retired teacher/wear sensible shoes types. But their haircuts are the same no product/no styling ones those women wore 50/60 years ago
