I have a chase united card and it's been good.. as we are shopping around for airfare now, are there any you love.. Was looking at the chase sapphire.. anyone have?
I have the Chase Sapphire and I really love it so far. It's heavier than my other cards so it feels fancy, LOL. It's the first I've paid for a CC but it seems worth the $95 for me: $50 hotel credit I'll soon use, Peloton credits have paid for my app for about 6 months ($60) and I appreciate the 2x dining points/discounts (esp. on Starbucks reloads). I signed up when it was the 100,000 point bonus and we were putting in a new patio, saving 1k off that improvement. I have not yet used points to book via the portal but it seems really easy and you get the 25% bonus or 5x points. The bonus is lower now ($800 or $1000 if redeemed via travel/must spend 4k in 3 months) but if you want a referral link here's one: www.referyourchasecard.com/6p/YJX5DXTPET
Depending on what you want/need you might also look at a Southwest CC and the companion pass. Our neighbors have been traveling a ton this year with theirs.

You can also pair this with the Chase Freedom Unlimited (free). I have the Sapphire Reserve and use that for dining/travel (3x) and put everything else on the Unlimited (1.5x). Then you can transfer the points to the Sapphire for the 25/50% bonus. www.referyourchasecard.com/18a/OAL8O09VVP
We use our Costco Citibank for most of our travel. Travel pays out at 3% on the card and it has no foreign transaction fees. We just prefer earning the cash back, and when it's coupled with gas and Costco purchases, most times our rebate check is over $3000. That gives us a big chunk of change and don't have to keep track of points.
We just booked a vacation and I opened the Chase Saphire Prefered - thanks for advice y'all! I already use the freedom version, so I can transfer points and manage the account quite easily.

We did too.. the lower one that's only 100 a year... the other one I don't think we would use all the perks...
We have the Alaska Air Visa signature, but I think that's pretty Seattle specific since it's their hub. Otherwise every travel buff I know uses Chase Sapphire.

Same. We use our Costco Citi card for everything. We don't get that big of a refund check but usually we are over $1000. And starting last year they now allow a direct deposit of the cashback to your bank account.
Asked and answered, I see, but we like the Sapphire Reserve and Preferred (H has one and I have the other) and we each have the Freedom Unlimited too, so we can get 1.5x on everything. I use that as my main card. The transfer from Ultimate Rewards (or Amex points, if you go that route) is really where you see the savings. We just booked another weekend at the Hyatt in Big Sur that’s all inclusive. It was I think 90k points but the price on the website is $2,600 per night!
Love of my life baby boy born 11/11. One and done not by choice; 3 years of TTC yielded 4 MMC and 2 CPs, through 4 IUIs and 2 IVFs. Focusing on making the world a better place instead...and running.
I also have the Chase Sapphire, and didn’t realize the bonus to having the Unlimited! Thanks for the tip. Also for what it’s worth, I find their travel department very easy to work with.
