My randoms... I haven't read randoms all week so I'll catch up today.
It's been two weeks since I got laser hair removal on my chin and all the hair has fallen out. I feel so privileged that lasers work so well on me. My self confidence has sky rocketed. No grey hairs on my head yet but now I know I have a couple on my chin, haha!

I’m seeing my younger son tomorrow for a pseudo Easter dinner at a steakhouse. I made Easter baskets for both kids when they were toddlers and they’re one of the few sentimental things I took when I sold our house. So I am giving him back his Easter basket, filled with homemade peanut butter cookies, chocolate chip cookies, shortbread, lemon bars and a Dove bunny. He has an extremely low threshold for public embarrassment so I am putting in in a plain brown paper bag. #Respect
ETA I love cooking but haaate cooking for just myself so I’ve had fun making all these treats! Also “cooking” keeps autocorrecting to “coming” and I’m very glad I noticed here but it makes me wonder how many times I haven’t caught it. I text about cooking (just did it again!) a lot with one of my nephews.
The two stores I've actually been to in the last couple of weeks didn't have any Easter egg dye, so we probably won't get to do that this year. We did the shaving cream dye last year, but the color didn't really stick to them, so even though the kids had fun doing it, it was kind of a bust. I don't boil our eggs because no one in our house likes hard boiled eggs, but we eat the crap out of them in other ways, so we usually just dye raw eggs.... may that's why the color didn't stick? I'm not sure we have any shaving cream left, though.
You could probably use all sorts of other things to dye eggs. I remember my mom used outer onion peels once and that produced a beautiful golden color (and somehow didn’t stink).
I had a ton of errands to do today. I just finished them and now I want to take a nap. I’m looking forward to hanging out at home tonight. DH and I have started going out on a little date every Thursday evening. We pick a bar or brewery and go grab a drink or two. I always have a deck of cards in my purse so we usually play cards too. It’s so much fun!
The landscape company that was supposed to come yesterday didn't. I called around 10am and the person who handles scheduling was out but they'd try to get in touch with them and call me back. Called back around 2 and they were still out - this time I learned that they were all out on a big job at the school. I was super irritated that no one called me, all communication was initiated by me. The guy in charge called back about 5 to say they were coming today and they were sorry. I expressed my frustration with the lack of communication - what if I had taken the day off work to be there for the job? I'm mean I'm lucky enough that I can work remote and didn't need to burn a vacation day but that's just bad business. Thankfully H is off today so he could be there - he and my kid have sent me a few progress pictures and videos. So even though I'm still irritated I can't wait to see if when I get home!
H finished the outdoor chores that we were going to work on tomorrow and I can't say I'm sad about that!
We're taking kid to an Easter Egg drop and then she's going to her friend's house for a few hours and she's very excited about it, she has asked me about 20 times when she's going and how long she can stay at their house LOL

It’s been a ROUGH week. TW: stomach illness.
Sunday DS2 wasn’t feeling great. Had some diarrhea. DH stayed home with him Monday where he had awful vomiting and D all day. I stayed home Tuesday as part of his recovery day. By Tuesday 5pm DH wasn’t feeling well and by 8pm DS1 and DH were vomiting. I stayed home Wednesday. I’ve never seen DH so sick. So much V&D. DS1 spent Wednesday night sick so I stayed home again Thursday since DH was feeling better but not great. We’re off school today and my kid woke up with MF Pinkeye.
DS2 has been back to normal and I sent him to daycare. My mom guilted me about sending him when I’m home: “He was sick too. He might pick up something else since his immune system is down. I don’t understand why you don’t want him home with you?!” HOLY FUCK mom. A 2 year old is not easy to take care of when you’re up to your elbows in stomach virus.
So far I’ve managed to stay healthy. I wore a mask and gloves anytime I was near the sick ones. I spent today basically bleaching my whole house and doing loads of laundry. I’m still waiting on the pharmacy to fill the eye drop prescription. They’re really backed up she said. I was like… my kids eyes are getting worse.
Passover starts tonight! We are going to my ILs for seder tonight but I’m hosting 17 people tomorrow. I still have to make most of the food 😬 I had made a manicure appointment for 2:00 hoping I’d be done by then and it would be the celebration of a long week of prep work; I’m still going to the manicure but there is no way I’ll be done. I’m really looking forward to having the week to enjoy my kids, slow down a bit and get some planning done for my daughter’s bat mitzvah later this year.
I'm planning a bat mitzvah for this year, too. Let me know if you ever want to talk about it. it's all i ever thing about. Chag sameach, have a good Pesach.

I’m irrationally annoyed that I got a message from Uber saying that a driver reported that I wasn’t wearing a mask on a recent ride.
I literally haven’t been in a store or a taxi/Uber/lyft in 2 years without a mask on, worn properly, fully over my nose and mouth the entire time. I walk out the house or where I am with my mask on, so it’s not like I put it on once I’m in the car.
I’m such a rule follower for certain things and especially during a pandemic so this has really annoyed me lol. I wish I could respond!

Same thing happened to me a month ago. Husband and I sat in the back fully masked. I think it’s a new thing to mess with riders, maybe there is some incentive to report bad riders? Because it makes no sense.
My issue was actually on Lyft and I noticed that at the very bottom of their message they said ‘this could have been a mistake, no action will be taken against you unless we receive a number of complaints’.

Anytime! I’m so enjoying thinking about it but I have to actually get on it! When is your date?? Chag sameach!
I hope Saudade gives us some juicy gossip tomorrow. This sounds entertaining.
You think it’s exciting….but in reality now our entire stay in this town has been changed so “we” can spend time with this tour guide….😳😳
Now I’m just an awkward third wheel 🤪
Oh no! Are there others on the tour you can go out with? (I’m not sure what kind of trip you’re on). Are you able to go explore on your own? I’d be pissed to have my trip ruined.
I'm sorry Saudade. I had a tiny bit of hope that maybe a personal tour guide could turn out to be a cool thing but it doesn't sound like this is the case. I hope to still have fun.
This was a just us trip. We do it once a year since we live in different continents. Unfortunately it’s typical for her so I should learn by now to stop doing it…but here we are. I will absolutely get out and explore by myself! That’s the best part!

December 10. we have all the big stuff booked, but I keep thinking of other things and getting anxious. We're doing the service Saturday morning and the party Saturday night.

We are a month later! January 21. For a lot of reasons that have to do with my job, I have to invite our whole congregation- about 900 families 😬- to the service. We are doing a kiddish lunch for everyone and then a small Saturday night hang out/casual get together for out of town guests. I convinced DD that she should plan a trip for our family during spring break instead of doing a party. We will also do a Friday night dinner for out of town guests. I’m hoping my in-laws might sponsor it
The two stores I've actually been to in the last couple of weeks didn't have any Easter egg dye, so we probably won't get to do that this year.
I'm guessing you aren't going to bother at this point, but we just use regular food coloring (with a bit of vinegar and water). the instructions are right on the box and the colors are much better than they ever were with the kits.

We actually did the shaving cream/fod coloring route and it worked well enough for the kids to be happy.
