I finished Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus, which I absolutely loved, and Happy for You by Claire Stanford, which I didn’t really enjoy. Not sure what’s up next.
QOTW: The Velveteen Rabbit was always a favorite, and I loved the Dorrie the Witch books.

Finished Golem and the Jinni which I enjoyed. I thought the ending was near perfection. Read The Wedding Setup which was a quick and easy read. I liked it.
Currently reading the Family Chao which is so great if you're a Russian lit fan. (I am) and listening to Dread Nation. I've already borrowed the second book in the series for when I finish. Even though I haven't finished these current reads, unless something happens in the last few chapters I would recommend both.
QOTW: What is one of your favorite children's book when you were growing up?[/quote] Huckleberry Finn and Alice in Wonderland. I read them both over and over. They were perfect adventures and searches for self.
I'm still reading The Inheritance Games. It's been a busy and stressful week so I haven't had much time to read.
Qotw: I don't really remember many children's books as a child. I didn't become interested in reading for fun until I was in high school. I also don't recall anyone other than the school librarian and my great aunt ever reading to me. My great aunt used to read her old Grimm Fairytales like books to me. It scared me half to death as a child.

I'm slowly chipping away at Rock Paper Scissors, and I just started Song of the Humpback Whale (so good so far!)
QOTW: We loved "The Man Who's Mother was a Pirate", and we used to read "Happy Birthday Buddy Blue, a Rainbow Brite book every year on my birthday. My brother has a memorial tat related to Mother Pirate. I would get one too if I wasn't tattoo shy.
I read Wahala by Nikki May. It was unexpectedly entertaining. Definitely worth a read but my biggest complaint would be that the conclusion was rushed.
I'm now in the middle of Overdue and Black Girls Must Be Magic.
QOTW: Like tacokick I was very much into Beverly Clearly books - Emily's Runaway Imagination, Socks, the Beezus and Ramona books, etc.
I’ve been very restless in my reading this week I’m listening to The Lincoln Highway Reading Nature’s Best Hope by Douglas Tallemy (recommend it if ecology or gardening is of interest) Also tried reading one of the Amazon world of books selections and was annoyed at the dumb choice of the characters that I stopped. I started reading The Firekeepers Daughter by Angeline Boulley and like it so far.
QOTW: I loved the Little House on the Prairie series.

Much younger I loved a book that was naughty or curios puppies, and it was all photograph pictures.

Me too! Have you read her memoirs? They are very good.
Wahala is being made into a mini series. I think that will be a lot of fun!

I haven’t! I should check them out.
I would definitely watch Wahala. Thanks for the heads up!
