Your Probation Hours Cannot Be for a Political Organization

The McCloskeys, the white couple in St. Louis convicted of pointing guns at Black Lives Matter protestors,  went to court because they wanted to do their community service hours for a right wing political organization. The court ruled that no, giving free legal advice to Project Veritas, which tries to entrap Democratic candidates on video, does not actually help people.

This is the probation requirement: Under the probation, the St. Louis lawyers are required to give 100 hours of pro bono legal services to organizations that help “poor or indigent Missouri residents.”

"Mark McCloskey, reached by phone Thursday, said he disagreed with the court’s decision. He said he expected it, however, because “there’s only one unforgivable crime in America these days, and that’s standing up against the left.”

Next, he said, he plans to submit to the court an organization that combats Critical Race Theory in schools or transgender students.

“I’m just going to keep picking one conservative organization after another and having the Bar Association and Supreme Court telling me we can’t help conservative people, we can only help left wing people,” he said."

Right? Who’s going to want to take legal advice from people serving court-ordered community service?

This isn't criminal probation,this is probation of their law license. The Missouri Bar suspended their law license. To get it back they need so many hours of pro bono so I don't know why they just don't fucking take it. Stupid and these assholes shouldn't be around any indigent clients.

Yeah, I'm so confused by this. Dude lives in Missouri. Doesn't Missouri have rural areas? There are a lot of poor people in rural areas. Since I grew up in a very rural area in Pennsylvania, I am under the impression that rural areas have a lot of poor (white) Trump supporters. Can't they go help these people since they don't want to help "lefties"?
