We have another crazy weekend. DD1 has a middle school dance tonight until 10pm, so we won't get home until like 1030. I'm bringing her to her friend's house beforehand so that they can get ready together, then I will take DD2 immediately to soccer. DH is on his way home with the new travel trailer, and he will be exhausted, so I'll be doing all of the running today.
Tomorrow DD1 has softball at 1130, and it's supposed to be 90 degrees. Right now she has basketball at 1230 and 330, but she will miss the first game. Supposedly there's a basketball team pool party in there somewhere. But the coach is fighting the tournament holder about the schedule, so it may change.
Sunday DD1 has basketball at 9am 45mins away (supposedly...) and DD2 has soccer at 130 then a birthday party 30 mins away. It's supposed to be 90 again, and I don't think her team has any subs. So that should be toasty!
I do like to watch the kids play sports, but I'm glad that we only have 3 more weeks of total insanity. Basketball and soccer will end then, and we'll only have 1-2 more softball games.

H is under the weather, it’s supposed to rain most of the weekend, we canceled our plans and will spend the weekend relaxing at home. I have hopes of cleaning out my closet and dresser.
I haven't been able to do my GBCN WP lurking/participation lately because life has been nuts with both work and life stuff (lots of birthdays and softball). I had planned a client conference with a coworker and that was Sunday-Tuesday and I had people who flew in from everywhere and had to host them including for meals and cocktail hours. Then I had two out of town meetings Wednesday and Thursday in different cities.
My coworker/BF who I planned the conference with ended up testing positive for COVID the night after the conference. So we had to notify everyone and then she couldn't fly home to Portland, so she's been camped out at my parents' empty condo here. Her birthday was also on Wednesday so I really tried to make it somewhat special since she was by herself and a little bit sick. We had some outdoor distanced cupcakes and wine and another friend came, too. It was weird to do the outdoor personal lawn chair/distanced/masked thing like in early pandemic days. So far one of our coworkers also tested positive, and I'm crossing everything that she didn't give it to any clients.
This weekend is the travel softball tournament that I planned the hotel block for. Should be fun but no downtime. I really need to plan DS2's b-day party for two weeks from now, and figure out something to do for my bday Tuesday
DH is working, but Dd and I have a busy Saturday. We have 2 graduation parties to attend. 2 Bffs are having a combined party because they are cousins. It starts at 1. We are then going to my cousin's at 3 who is married to my high school Bff for theirs son's graduation party. And my cousin makes the beat barbecue chicken. Then we will probably go back to the first party, because more of Dds friends will be there.
Sunday is supposed to be cooler and rain, so I have high hopes of piddling around the house and making a big pot of bean soup and cornbread.
I just got some really happy Friday news. My BFF and her husband have been on such a long infertility journey. It's been close to ten years. They were all set to start IVF this year because their new insurance finally covers it. But then they found out her husband had new issues that might make it impossible. His surgery was today and it was all a success and positive and now this summer they can move forward with their first IVF cycle! I am near tears for her. This is such a huge step for their journey.
twinmomma that’s awesome. My dad had a surgery while my parents were trying that made it possible for them to conceive. I hope they’re successful soon!
I got the kid’s Covid boosters tonight. It was approved on Thursday. DD’s arm hurts so she is icing it.
Tomorrow they have a 9 am soccer game. I was hoping for the 10:30 slot.
No other official plans but trying to lay low and let them recover from the vaccine. There are some things we can do if we feel like going out but we don’t have to do anything.
Even though it’s not THAT busy it just feels very busy with all the end of the year stuff. 11 more days until the end of the school year.
Tax school weekend. Excitement today was the power went out for about an hour so we did class in the dark. There was no power for a good 60 mile radius so nothing the hotel did. DD is super excited that she is killing me in steps the last 3 days. She is walking everywhere. 7am Beach walks, work out room workouts, steps to the 6th floor multiple times. It's great but not fair as I'm stuck in a hard chair.
