We have a covered front porch with a HIGH ceiling (flat on sides like normal ceiling height and then goes up in a peak in the center with roof line in front of main door). Currently it's painted same as siding but we are re-painting and would like to lighten everything up by doing soffits and fascia in the lighter trim color. This would also flow into porch ceiling and make that the lighter trim color. (SW Natural Linen 9109). I'm a little concerned with light-colored ceiling showing every spider web, dead bug, and bit of dirt. It's so high to the peak that we can't reach it at all without a ladder or maybe tall extension tool so it's not easy to dust/sweep.
Anyone have a tall, light-toned porch ceiling and how is it working out?
We don't have a full porch, but we have a portico over our front door. The ceiling is stained rather than painted. The trim around it is all white. I don't notice an excess of webs/etc. and I don't put much of any effort into cleaning it.
[Huh, I thought I responded but maybe I didn't hit post?]
We have a high peak on our screened porch and a 2 story front porch - both are white. And YES they show lots of cobwebs and ick (bird droppings, wasp nests). If a stained or darker ceiling is an option that would look nice, it would probably look better for longer. I powerwashed the front a couple weeks ago - much better. I can't quite get the screened porch peak though- and it's wood so it really needs a hand scrubbing
I have literally never looked at my covered front or back porch ceilings in the 1.5 years I've lived in my house. I know they are white. #nothelpful
I'm in the same camp! We have a portico with a high barrel ceiling. I know spiderwebs near my door bother me but I've never noticed any up there. I even went outside and looked and didn't notice anything, but then again it's made of the same material as our vinyl siding so maybe stuff doesn't stick as much?
Probably also not helpful, but I love a light blue porch ceiling. I don’t have one now, but when I did never really noticed the webs much, but I also don’t think I checked often either.

This is also supposed to keep birds from building nests in case that's a problem. I love how it looks too.
My porch ceiling isn't super high but it's white and gross with dead bugs, wasps nests, spider webs and just general dirtiness.
Young House Love did this to one (or both) of their vacation rental houses. It looks amazing. One is a light pink, one is a light blue, I think? If you do a search on their blog, I’m sure you’ll find it.
Our front porch was enclosed and when we remodeled, we did shiplap ceiling and stained it like Susie’s. It’s very pretty, and gives the house character. Everyone loves it.
I’m really glad I came in here so that I feel not so bad about my dirty white porch ceiling. I’m glad everyone else has the same issue, I guess? But yeah, the white requires scrubbing which just isn’t happening.
