I'm looking for a personal checking account where I can transfer small amounts to myself into another account. So basically every time I resist temptation to buy something small I really shouldn't be eating/drinking/buying like a soda, I can transfer the $2.44 I "saved" to a "savings account." I want a visual to see that amount grow and maybe this can be a way that I finally reward myself. I can never seem to give myself the nudge to buy something big just for me though I have a list of things I'd someday like to have. Also as a self-employed person, I don't get to see money come in consistently and thus I have no way of visualizing any savings specifically allocated for myself since there is always a bill to pay somewhere.
Does this make sense and does it exist? I currently have a TD Bank personal account and everything about their online interface is clunky so I doubt it's easy to do with them.
The only thing you're going to have to look at is how many transfers you can do each month. I can easily transfer between my accounts with Wells Fargo and Cap One, but there's a limit on the number each month. You may be better off finding a way to do it weekly since I think that number is usually pretty low (like six-ish).

I thought that limit was only on transferring from savings accounts. My accounts mention that on the savings accounts. I transfer regularly with my checking accounts and I’ve never gotten any mention about limits.

At my credit union, I can have multiple sub-accounts under the same main account number. I have a checking, and three savings accounts in that one account. Each payday I transfer a set amount into each sub-account. Maybe see if your bank does that. I like it because I can see all the accounts at once when I log in.

That is probably the case. I just wanted to bring it up as a consideration.
