I know this isn't exciting as a gift giver, but 10 is when I start giving Amazon/Target gift cards, or even just cash. Some of my DD's friends (she is 10) have started including Amazon wishlists with the party invite and frankly it makes my life so much easier.
Otherwise it's hard to know what they already have or might like.
We got a box of 20+ balsa wood airplanes from amazon (like simple kits to put together, and they're $4-5 each). Then the present we give is usually $20 cash, a balsa wood airplane and a box of candy.

DS1 is 11 and some hits / go-to gifts for friends this year have been the Nerf Minecraft stuff (like crossbow and hammer) and a baseball hats of their favorite sports teams. All his friends are really into sports, so gift cards to Lids, sports stores or target are good, too. We can always use extra footballs, especially ones for the beach/ pool (nerf makes some water resistant ones), novelty pool floats which seem to need replacing every year, and water guns (the kids got a 2 pack of easy fill super soaker size from Costco as a gift and I make them water the plants with them 😆 )
My kids are obsessed with the Watermelon ball for the pool (we have a big and small one and they constantly fight over them). DS just turned 10 and had a pool party and his friends were all playing with it too.
Otherwise, gifts for him were super boring. Candy and target/Roblox/Fortnight/Xbox gift cards seemed to be the theme this year.

I was also going to recommend the watermelon ball! It’s my kids favorite pool toy
My son is 10. He likes Nerf guns, Pokemon cards, Legos, Minecraft/roblox stuff, fidgets. Since they have a pool, you could do pool toys, a new floaty, squirt guns, beach towel. I realize that this is probably specific to each kid and probably getting a little old for them, but DS is into Squishmellows as well.
