Couple tries to steal house, gets probation

Bizarre-ass story about a couple who broke into a house with a group of sovereign citizens and claimed ownership. The owner ended up with a nightmare in the courts, the people in the house wouldn't come out for the police when they tried to arrest them. This went on for months.

The couple at the center of this case are a dentist and a realtor and their guilty verdict was struck and they were ONLY given probation. Basically, the court said, "They were scammed and had no idea that what they were doing was illegal!" They also didn't show up to court in person, as they were in vacation out of state. Their claims are obvious bullshit and it makes me so angry that there were no consequences for these assholes.

Yes! And as a real estate agent, I assume you have some basic knowledge of property law (and a dentist is obviously no dummy)--this obviously doesn't pass the smell test.

So my husbands staff member has been dealing with the same situation for a year here in Canada. It has been hell for her everytime they get arrested they get released and they break in again. She obviously knows they do not own her home but that doesn’t stop them from harassing her family.

Also nuts is that it was a 10,000 sq ft property on 2 acres selling for only 1.1 million!! Amazing!

My husbands office used to be located up in that general area. Once day, he came home talking about who the secretary was talking about her boyfriend doing “something about joining sovereign somethings so he doesn’t have to pay taxes.” And then he was asking me all these questions about how crazy it seemed. I wonder if these fucks knew each other.

It’s a neat trick that they got away with saying they fell for a scam. How did anyone believe that? I’d love to know more about this and what is really going on.

Can someone please do this to the Supreme Court? Put on some robes and move into their chambers, take it over for a bit, hear a few cases and not make any rulings (so no shitty rulings) and say they didn't know it was wrong?
