Police kill unarmed Jayland Walker in Akron, OH

Akron police released video of the shooting of Jayland Walker, 25, who was killed June 27 in a pursuit that had started with an attempted traffic stop. The mayor called the shooting "heartbreaking" while asking for patience from the community.

It's not clear how many shots were fired by the eight officers involved, but Walker sustained more than 60 wounds. An attorney for Walker's family said officers kept firing even after he was on the ground.

I’ve been following this closely, as I’m just outside Columbus. They fired 90 rounds, claiming he fired ONCE. Never mind that he was unarmed when they executed him.

There have been protests in Akron since it happened and there’s one in Cbus tonight. As far as I know, BCI hasn’t gotten involved yet, and every time there’s a delay calling them, they say it’s “been too long.”

And yet the dude in Kentucky who opened fire on officers, injuring multiple people and killing 3 officers and a police dog was taken into custody after hours of negotiations.

I don't understand how they claim he shot at them when he wasn't armed. Guns are fucking loud. I'm sure it's just cover. The whole thing just makes me sick. How depraved must you be to shoot someone, let alone that many times?

It's hard to be a threat when you're dead. Not that I want to see any video, but surely he had to have fallen immobile somewhere in the first dozen shots. This goes even beyond firing squad. I don't understand. I don't want to understand.
