I am sitting on the couch right now trying to restrain myself from going and screaming at my H. You all may recall that my H thought it would be perfectly fine to wash saturated wax applicators and towels in my new washing machine. I scrubbed that thing, bleached it, used special cleaners, etc about 20x and finally after an entire year the stainless basket is clean again. So what does my H do? He washes towels used to take wax off. It’s no where near as bad as the first time, but now where the water line was there is a 3-4 inch line of wax. I feel like taking a crowbar to his truck. He’s definitely no longer allowed to touch the washer…for any reason. Ever. I’m trying to run a large amount of bleach through it right now. Is having separate washer and dryers a thing?

I don’t know anything about this, but could you ask him to clean up the mess? That is totally reasonable! That’s how we usually handle things like this. Or if the person who made the mess for whatever reason can’t clean up the mess right away (I’ve spilled make up a few times while rushing out the door so I wasn’t late for work) we apologize and ask nicely for help.
flygirl It should be! ex-H thought it would be a good idea to wash a muddy hair horse blanket in our washer (hint: Usually you take it to a place that has a commercial size washing machine). The fittings scratched the tub, horse hair and mud everywhere in the washer and on the floor. Who cleaned it up? Me. We then had a rule that any horse stuff for either of us (I ride horses, too) HAD to go to the laundry place that had commercial size W/D. It took me weeks to get the last of the horse hair out of the washer.
Ok douche, go ahead and call it mud. My husband DID have halitosis. We addressed it after I talked to you girls on here and guess what? Years later, no problem. Mofongo, you're a cunt. Eat shit. ~anonnamus

Oh my gosh, I remember the first time you posted about that!! I'd be livid. I would also put him in charge of cleaning it and any laundry that backs up if he doesn't clean it immediately. This isn't your problem!!

Have you tried WD-40? This is what I had to use to remove Crayon that got all over my dryer. I think it would work on the drum of a washer too.
And yes, have separate machines is the norm in the states.

The states like unites states? 🤔 I have never heard of this.

I think she means separate his and hers machines, not separate washer and dryer machines!
I don't know what kind of wax it is but bleach won't do anything. I would try isopropyl alcohol. A large bottle used to cost 99 cents but since Covid, they are now $3.50. This is what I use to remove candle wax and other sticky messes and it works great. If the drum is stainless steel, it's perfectly safe. You can find it at any store, in the pharmacy area.

totally took it the wrong way.
Although I know a lot of people who have to wash pretty dirty and stinky work clothes and they have a washer and dryer set specifically for this type of laundry. Nothing fancy. They usually buy second hand or the most basic washer which is around $500.
