Really, I just want to talk about these two things:

1) Apparently Armie Hammer is working in the Cayman Islands, selling time shares. His ex and kids live there, and I think he lived there when he was growing up for a while? I'm not really sure how he's flat broke, which is being reported, since he's been in several successful films, but damn, I guess he really is canceled for real. 

2) Bradley Cooper is reportedly dating Huma Abedin. He's not my type, but he's from the area I live in, and you know what? Get it, girl. Good for you.

I read an article where James Spader said he works because he is horrible with money and has to work. I’d like to think if I made that much money I would have a nice little nest egg just in case the jobs stop coming but who knows.

If rumors are true, Armie Hammer deserves everything he gets.

Armie Hammer is young though and even with a couple successful movies I don’t think he was ever a huge celebrity, so probably not commanding giant paychecks. Even if he had a nest egg from the movies he did do it wouldn’t be enough to last the rest of his life so he’d be smart to supplement with a “regular” job.
Also - I’d like to think I’d have a nest egg too but who knows. Lottery jackpot winners are statistically more likely to file bankruptcy … I think a lot of people who suddenly come into money for one reason or another underestimate how far that money will take them.

idk, he’s been in some pretty good movies. He even played RBG’s husband in On the Basis of Sex.

I think he’s a good actor, but if the allegations that came out a while ago (not the time share stuff) are true he is a fucking piece of shit.

The name sounded familiar (only because it's unique), but I couldn't place him. After googling, I've only seen him in social network. 

Absolutely no one should take me as a barometer, though. I only recognize Bradley Cooper's name, wouldn't be able to pick him out of a line up. I did see Hangover, but that's it. Again, I had to google. But I know who Huma Abedin is! Still probably couldn't pick her out of a line up. I read most of my news.

I don't believe the story is true either... But, his family being loaded doesn't mean he personally is. His family could've pulled any sort of financial support from him.

Apparently his nephew filed a restraining order against him for physical and mental abuse after he ended a 7 month sexual relationship with the singer….

They take incest allegations very seriously in Puerto Rico apparently.

This Variety article says he's not getting any family money and needs to work a regular job since he's not an actor any more.  I buy it. I don't know if he was cut off pre or post cannibal allegations, but that family has a history of being messy. I think one of his aunts (?) worked at, like, a Home Depot.


As for Huma and Bradley, well. I don't know that the person I'd choose to date putting up with shitpig Anthony Weiner would be a movie star with a very public dating history, but I hope she's happy. She deserves it after everything she's been through.

Not really. When Armand Hammer died, he was estimated by Forbe's to have a net worth of around $200 million. That was back in 1990. That's around half a billion in today's money. Other estimates put his net worth as high as $800 million (about $1.8 billion today). But that doesn't mean the family kept all the money. It also doesn't mean that they'd give him any either.

Armie's net worth is estimated around $10 million, but that doesn't mean it's liquid. Real estate, investments, etc. is likely a lot of that value. Maybe he is selling time shares. He doesn't have any film/television work in the pipeline right now. He's got to make money some how.

He is 35 and has been in some movies that while were flops had huge budgets, a few indies and a lot of movies with an ensemble cast. He was the Lone Ranger in The Lone Ranger. He was in the Social Network, the Man from UNCLE, On the Basis of Sex, Call Me by Your Name, Rebecca, Death on the Nile, one of the Cars movies, Mirror Mirror, J Edgar, etc He’s been on Broadway. He started out doing Gossip Girl, Veronica Mars, Reaper 15 + years ago. He’s been working a long time in a lot of very big name projects.

I don’t know his exact paychecks but it’s not like he’s been playing taxi driver #3 in an indie film. He’s also from a very wealthy (and strange) family so it’s not a lottery winning situation. He had the money to launch a career even after lot of his movies flopped and some lean years. He grew up in the Hollywood Hills and the Cayman Islands. His dad owns a several companies.

My guess he’s just very bad with money. If I really had to guess, some of it has gone to paying off people not to leak things to the press about his bizarre behavior.

What is surprising/unusual is that his extended family is so wealthy yet he doesn’t seem to have a trust fund or any income from them. Or if he does/did, it’s not enough. His family does seem to all work despite the wealth though so it’s hard to know what is going on.

The dude has a normal job - it just feels weird to me that it’s somehow looked down at. Plenty of actors have had normal jobs even after being in a few movies. Obviously this guy is problematic, but him wanting to earn money is the last thing I find gossip worthy.

I keep reading it's his half-sisters son, so they would be blood related.
